Been all about the money and television for years . You want a global audience , something people will pay to see , you bring in the big stars , mostly foreign , to the detriment of young English talent . England currently has more foreign players in the prem ., than any other major European league . Has to have some effect on the nnational side . No doubt there are other factors involved , lack of facilities for kids , methods of coaching , different oppertunities.and interests than iin the past etc. Can't see it changing any time soon , unless tv audiences die off , lol.
Wasn't suggesting he was the answer , just that your post read like something he could have said . Have to admit can't see him as a future prime minister , ....although stranger things have, and still will , happen.
If only , Jeremy . , lol.
Ooops
Ooops
Wishful thinking ? Or a wee touch of sarcasm ? , lol.
Hi mate , have a wee look in now and again ,old habits , see if mailman's behaving himself , lol....have to agree Arran's great , down this neck of the woods the Isle of Wight's got a lot to offer .From one of his recent posts seems as if it might be a lot closer for dunandusted.
I'll second that , great to see him continuing to enjoy success with Lendl , maybe he is a lucky coach , lol Be nice if one of the informed posters on here could reply to Thales enquiry , got to keep up the boards reputation for helpful , friendly replies . , lol.
Your right of course , not all the same squad but a number of the 1966 squad were in the team . Many regarded the 1970 team as the better team , who knows , and although they didn't win the tournament they did give the Brazil team , claimed by some to have been the best international team of all time , their closest game losing 1-0 ,and had it not been for an illness to Gordon Banks might well have met them in the final and possibly replicate their success of 1966 . All if's and maybes now but to my mind they were a class apart from the current lot .
Even odder just read a comment in the Guardian where a guy reckons the current England squad is better than the 1970s team ( basically the 1966 team that won the World Cup ) and that in their heart of hearts the current Welsh team will know that , even if they win the tournament , England are a better team . I'd be willing to bet that the guy who wrote it also voted leave in the referendum .
Wales , lol , what a game , what a team . Brilliant ...speaking of brilliant , been some great posts on here recently by yourselves and others . Nice to see the board being a bit more like it used to be . ATB
Nice one Andy . .......Need I say more , lol.
Sorry , no idea what the present position is regarding the litigation . ATB mailman ... cheers .

I'm fine guys , thanks for the concern , but have given up posting .Apart from some Lloyds shares haven't been invested for some time now and as you can appreciate it's hard to maintain an interest on that basis .Been most enjoyable over the years on here . Got to chat with a number of interesting and knowledgable people , learned a lot ,found out how little I know , lol. No doubt I'll still pop in now and again , old habits , but for now it's tatty bye . GL to you all , hope you all have a happy and prosperous future or as they say in Scotland may the best that ye've ever seen be the worst that ye'll ever see . Jings .
