Testing shambles8 Sep 2020 21:20
So we were away in the Moho' to the stunning West Coast of Scotland at the weekend. By Saturday night my wife had a bad cough, sweating with a high temperature and had no sense of taste or smell (I've had no symptoms at all). We decided to come home a day early on Sunday and booked a drive through test for each of us at Edinburgh airport that evening. The test was quite uncomfortable and we told to expect results within 48 hours. After isolating for two full days now, we've heard nothing and my wife has just waited on the phone for over an hour, to eventually be advised that they are now advising a wait of anything from two to five days to receive results! Also, they've now run out of tests! My wife asked about track and trace, as well as family and friends we've been in contact with on the run up to Saturday and the lady said it doesn't matter because we've been isolating since she became ill. What about the infectious period prior to that?
What a diference it will make once our tests are in use.
What a shambles.
Come on Avacta!!
Cheers
