For those that don’t remember we are now sidetracking back towards WNA2 remember what is there! No wonder the team are excited! Base Case: – Liquids: 146.4 million barrels (“mmbbl”) of oil initially in-place (“OIIP”);– Gas: 211.5 bcf of gas initially in-place (“GIIP”) Upside Case: – Liquids: 283 mmbbl OIIP– Gas: 265.9 bcf GIIPInitial petrophysical analysis indicated that the overall hydrocarbon column of 65 metres comprised a gross oil column of approximately 45 metres underlying a gross gas column of approximately 20 metres, all within the Kirkham Abbey interval. Logs and core both suggested encouraging porosity within the oil zone, which additionally appeared to be naturally fractured. The Extended Well Test (EWT) was paused in order to optimise the evaluation of the oil column and it is intended to commission a revised Competent Persons Report (CPR) following completion of the EWT. This report will re-assess the volumes of hydrocarbons and economics of the West Newton project, which will incorporate the information gathered since drilling the West Newton A-2 well.
