Neil your response made me chuckle. Boris was effective as London Mayor as he created a role for himself and let others do the work. But as Prime Minister he has to make decisions and stick by them - he is totally out of his depth. JJ

mMax1, I agree with you that the results are going to be good. However there is a but, in that the message that is given in terms of profitability going forward could be a bit depressing. Fully expecting it will hit the share price.
Fingers crossed that I'm proven wrong. Maybe I'm too old for this game, or maybe a little bit wise. Time will tell. JJ

Dear Neil, if the share is trading at £250 then I wouldn't be bothered about the div as I will be wealthy.
Your crystal ball is predicting that the share will go from £1.50 to £250 by October this year.

Our Neil talking of 4p represents a big chunk of what I view as working capital. It could be spent in opening up new profitable lines of business, and closing those that are not profitable. Yes it costs to close outlets/develop change of use. Once dividends are paid out the money is gone, I strongly believe the bod can use that money to good effect right now. JJ

Sadanby, £2 because that gives me a decent profit. Also for Dan to have delivered on his plan the share has to be back up to that level. If he fails to deliver then of course it could languish below £1 for ever and a day. JJ

The economic environment has changed dramatically with the Ukraine situation and for many it feels as if the sanctions are designed to impact the whole of free Europe. The sanctions are in many ways not bothering the Russians, as in Putin and his cronies. The Chinese must be having a chuckle at our expense. In this situation its quite possible that the MKS bod will delay the div with plenty of sound arguments for their decision. JJ

Over the last month bank shares have been dropping with the exception of MTRO. Could we see £1 again in the coming month? JJ

The shares are expensive, the end is nigh with this business.
3 years ago I was tempted by VAST and the share went up significantly but then the truth started to emerge. It is clear that this is a con by a group of people who in another era would have been selling watches from suitcases on the edge of London street markets. My small investment is still in VAST but please don't repeat my mistake. DYOR will show you that NEVER has the bod delivered for us. JJ

In the current climate of uncertainty it is better that MKS opts for share buy back and not a dividend.
Why? Because the dividend is giving away monies that are then lost to the business whereas a buy back increases the worth of each share and can be stopped before the buy back has been fully exercised should the monies be needed elsewhere.
Flexibility is important.
Buy backs are being welcomed/accepted as a sound strategy. JJ

Pollack, be patient its only a "paper loss" until you actually sell. Despite the gloomy state of the world you may well see a significant bounce before the results. Many here are happy to hold for the results, and in some cases a few years beyond. Up to you and of course DYOR. Good luck. JJ
