The $0.4m payment was for $5m worth of stock (at BC's prices) for customer evaluation. I would have thought, based on that, any orders should be pretty large and with a much better profit margin for Genedrive. Clearly BC's profit margin on the first batch is massive... that is assuming we don't receive any more $ for sale of that first shipment (other than what we've already received 0.4m). It also assumes that the first batch is all the stock listed on https://www.genedrive.com/assays/96-sars-cov2-documentation.php ...I'm not 100% sure it is. Hopefully much more clarity soon!

It's an incredible achievement! It really is ground breaking and life-changing bio technology... just imagine all the people who thanks to Genedrive's test will be able to live their life with the ability to hear, to experience music for example... something so many people take for granted.

Yes sounds like it is Cytiva (formerly GE Healthcare) and some unmentioned Asia companies. Found this from 2014 final results...

"We are working closely with our ISO13485 approved Genedrive® unit manufacturers in Asia and GE Healthcare in Cardiff for the scale up of our TB assay product in preparedness for launch early in 2015."

Not sure, I know they make the assays. Maybe the devices too, I'll do some digging and try to find out... it makes me a little nervous about funding again (re manufacturing the new devices). Probably nothing to worry about though.

Does anybody know who manufactures the Genedrive devices? I'm wondering how quickly they take to be built, whether they need to build up an inventory or whether they can build them on demand as orders come in.

It's because things are so much in the air at the moment.

I've just been going through the written Q and A that came after the recorded presentation. Matthew made it clear in the audio that it would be easy to get an asset backed loan if it came to needing funds and didn't even mention placings. Where as in the written Q&A David says "It is clear from these numbers that if sales are not forthcoming in the next few months then the Company will need additional cash to continue as a going concern and one likely source of that cash would be an equity fund raise."

So right now, all expected at about the same time... I am expecting initial orders for AIHL, COVID-ID launch, BC's sales cycles to hopefully be coverting sales and the company to be needing cash (that's according to David's comment however I estimate we should have about £2m left). We have HCV sales but we don't know how much.

This is why we are at 45p and stalling a bit... though next weeks AIHL will hopefully change that!

I get the impression Jaceorge's strategy in the future might be to wait until a company reports sales, orders fulfilled and profits clearly presented before buying into a company. However by eliminating some of the uncertainty in doing that you end up having to page much higher prices, may aswell by a ftse 100 stock.

At least earlier before the thread was removed he revealed a glimmer of positivity in his comment about celevrating "when we get to 150p" so he clearly believes in the company. Otherwise he would sell and take the loss. Still it is odd that he posts so much doom and gloom as comments here do effect the shareprice. We are on the brink of a wave of positive updates imo, my only worry had been a possible placing but listening back through the presentation last weekend it seems very unlikely indeed, so am feeling pretty optimistic here.

@ThePunter1 Beckman won’t disclose their sales figures, I’m sure we’ll hear something soon from DB about how well they’re doing with their sales cycles though as the shipment we know about expires beginning of September. New customers have to go through Beckman’s sales cycle, Beckman are selling the whole workflow remember including their biomek machines so there is quite a bit of shipping/installation time involved.

@Hendi2 exactly my thoughts! Beckman are selling the whole package to new customers, and for their existing customers who already have Biomek workflows just the tests and extraction kit.

In the recorded presentation they specifically said the genedrive kit sales are being managed by 2 Beckman sales teams, one is the extraction kit sales team and I can’t remember the wording off the top of my head for the other but I think it was biomek automation sales team… will listen again later.

He also said Beckman are very serious about selling the genedrive kit.
