I'm with you on those points,
and spodumene coming into China will not meet their demands for one they don't have the capacity to process any significant quantities and secondly the quality will not meet battery requirements.
Although at the same Hanwa will likely have a deficit of 17,500 tonnes to source over the next two years.
April 2017:
Bacanora is targeting production of 17,500 tonnes of lithium carbonate in 2019 and 2020, which will increase thereafter to 35,000 tonnes per year.
In 2019 and 2020, Hanwa will purchase between 70% and 100% of the lithium carbonate produced under a tonnage-based contract at market pricing, with final pricing to be finalised prior to the commencement of production.
