Call me Mr Picky but I’d have thought a 1.5% gain when the rest of the market is down more than 1% was more of a time to hold and see what’s happening than a sell signal.

Disagree with the assumption that they were unable to diversify - they haven’t but is that because there were really no opportunities or that they were slow, looking in the wrong place, too timid to take them? I’d say there have been opportunities but Genel haven’t been quick / smart / agile enough to take them.

I’m actually more confident after the investor meet presentation - as it seems are rest of the market as early 5% drop has been recovered on no new news, purely sentiment.

No positives in Somalialand - expenditure and activity both reduced to save money.

Whilst pipeline and Iraq / KRG issues are outwith Genel’s control, making acquisitions is not. It’s been their priority for 12 months and they haven’t completed anything.

They re also throwing money at BB arbitration despite not knowing who can or will pay even if Genel win.

Receivables and Overdues mounting with little idea how they will ever be paid - it was tricky when only KRG were involved.

Took the market a while to react but selling underway now - down over 5%.

Gonna be a long hold from here! And with no divi to keep us optimistic.

Were the Longspur estimates for 2021 / 2022 made in 2019 / 2020 anywhere near actuals?

Some track record of accurate predictions would go a long way to adding credence to the research notes.

Or does the Covid / Ukraine impact just invalidate everything and out first chance to judge will be comparing 2023 estimates with actuals?

Still no pipeline, they’ve given up on Sarta, they don’t quite understand how Iraq selling KRG oil for them will work, dividend suspended and no news on asset purchase.

On the other hand no major leaks and no injuries whilst not producing any oil.

More people selling than buying is the traditional reason.

We really can’t think of anything more productive to do with money but with dividends at about 4% it’ll pay for itself in saved dividends in 25 years!

Looks like a Board with little confidence and even less imagination - paying down debt would save more more quickly.

You initially said it would underpin share price - though you still haven’t provided the requested evidence. Now you say it might - but then it might not. Another 4Bn seems a gamble if we’re not sure. I’d rather they did something value accretive with that money or returned it to shareholders instead of gambling on a share price prop.

Interesting to see that the results of initial feasibility work on the Biogaz Gardanne project awarded in March 23 are already complete and reported in France.

Seav - the apparent discounted value only comes into effect if the rest of the market agrees with you - that hasn’t been the case over recent years. When do you expect it to be realised?

I’m still about til below 2150 when it might be worth a short term gamble.

Doubt anyone will be surprised on results day. If you’re invested or waiting to invest you’ll know the pipeline has been closed since March.

What’s next is far more important than what has been.
