Mostly oxide won gold (straight from close to surface oxidized material or chemically oxidized sulphide ore) eventually goes through electro-refining after cyanide/carbon treatment.
Copper concentrate, however, needs smelting, and the gold is recovered during this process as well.
I’m not sure of the sorter process you refer to but there is equipment that can assess the ore on the back of a truck and send it to the relevant stockpile. Stockpiles, assigned a value by geotechnical staff, can the be blended to be crushed and milled and so on
