But at least it's far safer now if automated I would have thought, and that is the most important issue, given the current HSE regime we have nowadays.
H&S I know drives the average Joe Nuts. When I worked at the Shell offices in Aberdeen you could get fired if you were caught walking down stairs not holding the F---n handrail, WTF, who would want to do that, given CV19, absolutely Bonkers!!
Can understand your 'I miss it' quote, but looking at those You Tube recordings, I would have thought, that some Derricmen may well have been killed in such a hazardous role? maybe I'm over dramatising it, but it does look somewhat precarious to me.
