RE: This time last week2 Feb 2023 13:32
FYI.
Just an extract from some communications I have received which should hopefully calm some nerves.
At the Q3 trading update we said we expected FY 2022 results to be broadly in line with expectations - and there has been no change to that - and so no requirement for us to put out a further update.
We share your frustrations with the share price performance. Unfortunately our traded share volumes are very low, partly reflecting the fact that the share register is very concentrated with a relatively few number of shareholders trading, which leads to a lack of liquidity. This lack of liquidity exacerbates movements in the share price either way. Unfortunately the bus and rail sector is now restricted to just 2 companies listed on the London Stock Exchange - National Express and First Group - which makes it less attractive to certain types of investors who may want to follow index weightings closely. That said, you are right that our share price has underperformed for the last 2 years. Clearly our Executive management team and the Board are aware of this and are continuing to take actions to improve the financial results and reduce the level of gearing. Our full year results are due on 2nd March and will contain a full update of our current position and our plans for the next year.
