If ever there was a time for the BOD to step in and back up their guidance after such a capitulation in market cap, with share purchases , then this is it.
They either are unable due to insider knowledge, or they don't believe in their own strategy and guidance.
Had a reply from IR who have generally said they will be attending several sales events in the next few weeks to drum up interest where they will reiterate their guidance/ targets etc.
But one interesting comment that has led me to think this decline is something specific
"We can’t comment on the specific factors driving the current share price but will be getting investor feedback as part of this process."
Anyone else think that there is something unknown to us?
Yeah I think Jon is Mr Nice guy, all the staff love him bla bla, he's forgotten he works for shareholders.
This needs a serious cull and a move into the future.
Stephanie from IR made the point to me about how they are meeting all their KPIs, and I thought , " so what, this isn't a local b----y authority, its a supposed to be a profit making business, get a grip".
The problem with this country is that the media seem to thrive on negativity, and eventually they will have no choice but to start reporting positivity which will impact markets here and general sentiment.
Take Friday the revised GDP figures, UK economy actually 2% larger than pre covid, but the media and sections of the market focus on falling house prices.
Bringing that US shorter into UK relevant markets is desperate deramping, even if the US market falls like it did the beginning of this year, the FTSE kept rising and then they both changed direction.
Problem is when you consistently make glossy comments like " acceleration in financial performance" the markets heard it all before from this BOD and so have we.
We were being told last year that a return to free cash flow was expected H2 last year, so its no wonder the markets reacted as it has, and there's only so much you can blame on the hack.
CPI have a habit recently of producing complex and misleading financial statements and I think the market and mms have said " have some of that until you prove us wrong".
I know what you're saying, it's just frustrating how little coverage we get. You what they say, "every little helps" especially if the market is in a good mood on the day.
And not that they've got stellar credibility, but even the motley fool hasn't covered us for 1, 2 years, can't even remember.
