Britain's veterinary market will face a formal market investigation, after an initial review raised concerns about pricing and competition in the sector, the country's competition regulator confirmed on Thursday.

An inquiry group made up of independent experts will oversee the investigation, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said in a statement.

What a joke this market has become, 6% on 100k sells before the UT.

This market is a sham.

Less than 100k shares sold and -4%, really

That profit downgrade should have already been known by the market, from the previous update, and subsequent broker note by Zeus, so effectively the market has whacked it twice on the same news.

Anyone hazard a guess as to what is behind this?

Cant be the 10 mill miss on guidance can it?

And terrible day to do it, we'll miss any bounce in cpi day tomorrow.

Maybe they drop another Monday morning with someone increasing.

Wishful thinking.

But it's been strong today on a red day which is encouraging.

And let's hope and pray that cpi falls as expected next week and could be a trigger for small/midcaps to start properly recovering.

Can't believe those leeches increased their short by 0.2 yesterday, that's quite an increase in 1 hit.

Looks like they're going to attempt to play games here, unless it's purely a hedge.

Such a shame Wace aren't getting mullered at BT or WOSG today.

Ironically all of my positions which are small and have been added to in small tranches, are currently most profitable ones, WOSG, BT (today), IAG, VOD, from not being greedy and overweight I'm up 10-20% on each and a few others.

Taught me not to try and chase, not to be greedy unless black Swan event or sell off for no good reason, and don't be too all in on 1 or 2 stocks.

Sorry to hear about your hit yesterday, and your logic applies in terms of reducing overall (paper ) losses in these situations.

It's a sad state when we're talking largely about reducing hits as opposed to increasing gains!

You're right though, it remains consistently uncomfortable given the size of my holdings here.

And if I am honest I think I do need to alter my strategy here, because up to this point , the main aim of having such a large position in one stock in my ISA has been to try and claw back the CINE loss.

I keep forgetting that one can trade around without tax consequences more freely in the ISA, so take a few grand here, few grand there etc.

I hope you claw back yesterday's hit asap.

Well they're really going for it, another .10 % yesterday.

It's corrupt as anything the way these guys move the price to suit their needs.

Buys out stripping sells consistently today and they just keep dropping the bid / offer.

I cannot wait for the day I'm no longer invested in this type of company.

Yeah I bought 40 averaging 55 in the ISA, most recent, and previously bought 50 at 58 in the ISA in October, but the first 50 in the ISA were at 127, hence average there around mid 80s.

But 2 years ago sold cine whilst I could recoup something at 28p making a 40k loss in my ISA which is why I'm trying to recoup that somewhat with MCG, not going to plan yet!!
