My long term holding has not been touched since pre rights days and I am looking at 400p before considering making any changes to that holding. I also play with 100% of that long term holding for short term trades, I am currently invested with 60% of this and will look to sell 20% at 190. If this is achieved I will buy back in at 180 and sell again at 190. However if the SP dips to 170 I will buy 20% of my trading pot again. Not very sophisticated but this strategy has proven to provide great returns over the past couple of years. However, this strategy is subject to change depending on the great DBNO's predictions.

When day trading I always do the opposite to DBNO, a strategy that has proven to be my biggest stock picking success in a very memorable 2017.

But debt has not really decreased with higher oil, the debt figure is what will get the SP moving. If you like broker ratings that is entirely up to you however I pay very little attention to them as they are mainly only covering their businesses own position or that of ultra high net worth clients, they should not be seen as a buying signal for the PI. Each to their own though, this is my opinion only.

I hear a lot of noise on here about shorts holding back the SP but now with shorts under 7% do you not just think that the current SP is what the company is worth? I get that the oil price has increased but debt is still hanging around and although I am optimistic that it is under control, the January announcement will be important. If the company was worth a lot more don't you think at this low SP that they would be on the radar of a larger business who have little oil in the areas where TLW have plenty? BP for example. This would seem a wise call from a big company as they would be able to tap in to the local geological knowledge the Tullow fieldscan provide for future exploration. For your information, I am a LTH who also likes to day trade with up to 100% of my LT holding. Making some nice money with this strategy so not too disappointed with the current share price. FWIW, I am very positive on TLW medium to long term but happy to trade the margins to make some easy money at present. (not gloating here so sorry if this is misinterperated). Not rocket science is it though after such a strong multi year bull run, almost inevitable. Timing the correction is a little more difficult but I am gradually moving away from equities and apart from tlw moving more to defensive stocks in the equities I hold.

All good news about refinancing and OPEC will extend by 9 months could be the last chance to BUY at these low prices. Now that debt is sorted, production upticking, OPEC deal to be sorted this week all gives a great opportunity to pay down debt, arrange a decent hedging programme and watch the price rise nicely over the coming months. glta

I have heard on very good authority that the new CEO of is PFG is going to be Luke Enock. This has nothing to do with the shananigans in the SP today as there are only a handful of people in the know at the moment. Don't respond with flack as I couldn't care less whether you believe me or not, but this is correct news. glta

Why would my gut feeling of changed in the last 3 hours? My previous posts confirm my objectives. Been thinking about this though and if it goes up it could breach �10, if it goes down it could breach �8, hope this helps!

Chartist2, My gut feeling today is the same as it has been for the past couple of months, a recovery to �10 plus in the next 12 months. Bring on the volatility, I am quite relaxed about this one.

Just to add, I pay little attention to broker comments as they are usually based on their own agendas, much prefer to do my own research.

RDR, Thanks for your advice, but I think the SP will recover in the next 12 months (my own personal thoughts) and prepared to hang around and buy more at a lower price if the SP dips in the short term. I like to keep things simple, overcomplicating matters is not on my agenda. There are a lot of good things about this company and I think of lot of potential bad news is priced in. It could go the other way but as a contrarian investor I am more than happy to take the chance.

Chartist, I missed the spike unfortunately so I am sat on my holding and will retain until it hits 950. I will look to buy in again if it hits 850 and sell that tranch at 900. My trading philosophy is quite straight forward but has served me well over the years. In essence, I do my research before placing my first trade and then stick with that gut feeling. When doing my research one of the things I considered was that if it is good enough for Woodford it is good enough for me, if he starts to reduce his position then I may reconsider my strategy. This stock will be �10 plus within a year no problem, I just hope that there will be a lot of volatility in getting up there so that I can get in and out a few times and make a few 5 per cents.

Unfortunately the spike did not trigger my sale this time, never mind you win some you lose some.

I missed out early doors (bid/offer spread must have been quite wide but I have just got back in at 904.7p. Will sell again at 950 for a 4.5% net profit.
