There is this idea among some posters that company directors work in the best interests of shareholders. Shareholders are a necessary evil to company directors, like children's parents are a necessary evil to teachers, and patients' relatives to doctors and nurses.

A company board will look after shareholder interests when those interests align with their own but if a situation arises where the board stand to make mega squillions, then the board will line their own pockets first and the shareholder's best interests be damned. It's called 'big business'.

In the case of GGP, there are very good directors, and the vast majority of posters here have great faith in GH and CB, but beware the rose-coloured spectacles and remember why we're here - to make money. Continue to have faith in GH and CB as long as they continue to make good decisions that benefit shareholders.

'By waiving pre-emption rights, existing shareholders are not encouraged to increase their shareholding and shareholders relinquish first-refusal of purchasing further shares and increasing their percentage owned. If a company offers shares to existing shareholders and insufficient shares are raised from them, dilution takes place by offering shares to current non-shareholders. A shareholder with a large shareholding is a threat to the BOD, as any BOD likes to remain in control (with the largest percentage of shares). This is not so much about the private investors but about the existing institutional shareholders, with current sizeable shareholdings who would be able to increase their holding to perhaps an uncomfortably large percentage shareholding - (uncomfortable for the BOD).'

Morning All, Jim mentioned Lasseter's Reef, named after Harold Lasseter who claimed to have found a massive reef of gold. Now before you all go putting your desert boots on, Lasseter was a conman and a liar. It seems that the closest estimate to Havieron for the reef would be about 1,000 Km away at the Rawlinson Range. Take a look at the article while our SP is in a lull. Now if Havieron was THAT big so as to join the dots!! :) Although we'd have to go through other companies' licences.

TomE, I think there's silence from GH because he's up to his elbows in figuring out the order in which he's going to tell the shareholders all the exciting developments/results at the AGM. That's 'ALL' the exciting developments.
