Well when the sales price is far in excess of the production cost, then it should all drop to bottom line, but I think you are trying to link the Au price to the value of a company with a deposit, which is really tough.
High cost mines would have a very high beta, positive and negative and low cost mines would have lower betas. If I have confused you even more, I would stick to Au price up = good news!

Speedy its not that easy as there may not be a perfect correlation of gold at the mint and gold in the ground. But if you thought there was it would be about 7p per share.
Although all that $100 in theory drops to the bottom line it might be better to calculate it on a % basis or somewhere between the two. $100 rise is about 6%. Not sure that helps much.

The 5% stake will be valued by at least one, and maybe more 'competent person'. They will take everything into account eg price of gold, geological complexity, cost of mining, processing facility etc etc to arrive at some kind of IRR. From there they can get a value. Cant see it being this year as MRE wont be till end of the year.

MrEMC2, I dont think that follows at all. They have right of first refusal on other areas in the same licence and maybe other local areas, but not 'all GGP projects' as you say. Just means they can outbid Rio by matching their bid. You cant really extrapolate that further imho.

Shelly, its really tough to make direct comparisons. So many variable factors. Of course there will be plenty that will do so and you have to start somewhere, but I would leave that to the analysts who will have models for this sort of thing.
