But their public plans are focused on e-methane and hydrogen co-firing, not building a standalone green hydrogen plant of this scale. There’s no public Japanese project near 300MW, and no known project tied to power decarbonisation with electrolyser procurement underway.

If there’s anything else in APAC close to matching — I haven’t found it. All roads keep leading back to South Korea.

Dangjin is a confirmed 900MW hydrogen power project, split into 3 x 300MW phases — directly matching ITM’s “over 300MW” electrolyser deal. Great news on the 300MW+ deal today. I’ve done some digging, and it strongly points to South Korea — specifically the Dangjin Green Energy Hub. It ticks every box: APAC, around 300MW scale, green hydrogen for a power plant, local gov funding, and currently pre-FID.

Samsung C&T and Korea Southern Power are leading it. Samsung doesn’t make PEM electrolysers, and their Nel partnership only came in March 2025 — too late for this contract. So if they needed proven PEM tech fast, ITM is a very credible choice.

Makes sense the customer’s confidential for now — these big Korean state-backed projects keep supplier names under wraps until FID. But if this is confirmed later. It's a huge foothold for ITM in Asia. And it’s just the start — the full project is aiming for up to 1 GW of hydrogen power capacity by 2032.

It’s funny really — you clearly don’t rate ITM, yet you’re glued to every move it makes......
