Like many investors you would have / do have an account with some one so I guess they would have been paid into your trading account or direct to your bank account.

They are not sitting somewhere for you to call up or cash in, but if they are big then you might / would have paid tax on them if they are very large.

Who says the politcal fall out of rasing the dividend off the back of potentially getting the merger approved would be sizeable. no one is saying that only the de-rampers with negative points of view.

I don't care about any of that, just go and look at the Divi history for VOD , they were paying 10p ish from 2015-2018, so no reason not to go back to that with bigger turnover and bigger profits.

In the last set of results , BT's Rev was £20.68bn with profit £1.73bn Divi 7.7p

VOD 's Rev was $45.7bn with profits of $14.7bn and Divi 7.8p.

So VOD can afford Divi no trouble and once the new merged company gets moving with bigger turnover and bigger profits theres nothing to say the Divi can't be 8p-10p.

Time to buy more now as in the long term the SP is only going up from here, regardless of what other posters say.

Once the merger goes through with 3 they will want to reward all shareholders with higher Divi's for the sake of the bigger company going forward.

Any investment in shares is as they say a long game, just because ITV shares are low today doesn't mean they will be low in 3-6 months time, you can only judge share movement on a day by day movement.

I know many investors that are thousands down using investment houses if they were to sell today, but today 's low market is normal for this time of year.

So forget any ITV pensioners or pensions via company shares bought with a discount and find another negative to have a go at the Dame.

Employees don't invest big somes of money buying shares for their retirement, many do buy shares though cheap through a company system out of their salaries on a monthly basis.

But as anyone knows there is NO G/Tee on any share prices it's just a gamble like us that sometimes bites you in the ass. So don't try that one.

Out of interest why bring pensions into this, As far as I know the re is NO problem with the pension s and all retired pensioners will be getting their pensions and an up-date with inflation.

I have a private pension and for the last so many years been getting inflation rise increases and ITV are NO different. So let's just stick to the SP and if your not a long term holder now is the time to buy and make the money in a few months time.

I think the Dame is worth every penny she gets if it means I make money on share price growth and good Divi's that are better than putting the money into savings.

The trouble is there are too many posters on here that follow the rubbish ajax posts who has no idea of what is going on but continues to pull numbers out of thin air.

Once these takeovers are completed £1.40 will seem very cheap and many will be kicking themselves for not buying more at this price.
