Good morning guys and girls, Maybe they have already arranged a firm placing etc with many of the current shareholders by way of what do they call it BOOK BIULDING and just tel the market at the end of Sept.
Why not just take / raise the extra money now while the city is expecting it and it's done.

Good to see 2 directors buying shares at 80p , 1 with 24,000 and the other with 20,000 .
Always good to see them putting their own money into the business and must think 80p ish is very cheap.

I guess Mars has to run their business the way they are advised to to make the biggest profits and keep their shareholders happy, and that does sometimes means people losing out at some stage.
But as Tenants do you not have time agreements saying that niether side can walk or be put out without say a 6 months agreement in your contracts.
Very strange if the contract doesn't cover this. best of luck.

You make of number of very logical points and they should be able to pay that £70m back from sales revenue, but the BOD's new that in May 2021 but still made it commone knowledge that they will be looking to raise the £70m by issuing more shares etc.
Look many of us have been trading for many many years probably like yourself and we all know nothing ever goes the way things should and we are always being caught out by something we know nothing about. Card share price has been held back to around the 60's mark for a while and maybe the city still think this placing / issue will happen.
Like many I am still holding but all I am saying is nothing would surprise me if in an rns at the end of Sept thie issue pops up.

If a £70m raise is on the cards I think it will / could be announced in the rns at end of Sept, and if it's still £70m that's a 1/3 rd of MC so about 100m shares needed at 60p or below with discount ie 45p- 50p but just my view.
I know they will have tried to pay off some of the debt but if your going to all that trouble and cost of getting away a placing / rights you might as well go for the £70m now and be done with it , while the city is expevting it to happen.

Good morning all, This was the May 2021 RNS

Card Factory announced a £225m refinancing and a plan to raise £70m in equity as the retailer reported better than expected sales after stores reopened from lockdown.
The bank facilities exceed the £200m they replace and are for the same term through to 24 September.

The arrangements comprise a £100m revolving credit facility on similar terms to the previous one, a £75m term loan facility and £50m of coronavirus business interruption loans.
The seller of greetings cards and gifts said it would pay up to £5m in fees if it does not reduce the debt by specific dates from 30 November 2020 until 30 July 2022.
Now I think it fair to say they was expecting more sales with the lockdown finishing before now so they may not be enough cash to pay off debt as expected.
So the way I read the rns this looks to me as if they could/ will announce a capital raise in Sept / Oct, and if the sp is trading at about 62p-64p we could be looking at a price with discount at say 45p-50p.
Any thoughts. And I am still holding so not de-ramping !!!!

It's not about being positive or negative ie de-ramping as you put it. it's about trying to see where the prices are going.
I like many I guess constantly look at as much news / media reports about all the shares I am in to try and get an idea where things are going. It's not like it was 20 years ago when you could invest in shares and then just forget about them for another few years. Now days much of what happens with share prices is driven by insider / news reporters / shorters etc etc so you cannot just invest and put your head in the sand.
Right now it says the markets are very high and could fall, even bloomberg / us are saying maybe now is cash time and selling maybe the thing to do.So when we get press reports about RR saying they could need more cash and the city not wanting to push this above £1.20 and now £112, like many I am thinking maybe now is the time to sell and if it goes back down to below £1 which it now looks like it will I might then buy back in it's as simple as that. Now days you cannot afford to take notice of all the press reports if you want to make money. And in all honesty I have / do hold shares in almost all the company posts I have made over the last 5 + years. But we all work different and do our own research as we should.

I'll have you know I have been buying RR shares now for over 6 months, and with regards to profits etc with Covid going on for much longer than anyone thought RR will be running out of money and that's in a number of articles be it true on not.
Also they still have what about £3bn in debt and we all know that at some stage it will need to be paid down.
If they do need to raise more money at say 80p ish that could be why now the sp is starting to drop back.
It's great as any shareholder to just stick one's head in the sand and hope all is well but sometimes it isn't and maybe that's also why the city do not want to push this above £1.20 . But what do I know. !!!

Yes a number of artles in the press today, 1 about Causeways wanting to sell of assets to repay debt and another about how some of the major uk airlines including RR will need to raise even more money by placings or rights to see them through the winter.
So does that mean another rights at what 80p ish very soon?

I would say some invest with no eyes and assume everything will be ok and the skys the limit with prices, but I always try to see what's coming down the tain lines next.
My moto has always been be prepared for something you don't know about because it always turns up when you least expect it.

Yes we couid be looking at £1.05 again but many will just buy more in the hope of more profits. It's a game.

Yes I read that in the Mail, I am with Centrica on fixed term until end Nov and end Dec , so bracing myself and now looking to change for the best deal.
But is now the time to get into another fixed deal at sky high prices as in 3-6 months the prices could all fall again and your looked into high prices for another 2 years. I am also a holder of these and although I want the sp to go up and make a few bob I don't want to pay out more for their gas.

I just think we should not all get carried away with wanting / wishing the sp goes up to £1 asap because as soon as cine decide to call a placing / rights the sp will drop to the price whatever that will be 50p- 60p -70p.
I cannot see why they would wait until next year, what's the interest payments on this debt and with the slow get back to normal in UK and US the higher the debt. I am just thinking myself be prepared for the announcement that's all.

You can’t, and before anyone says I am just de-ramping I also hold these shares.
But looking at CINE as a realist I think it was always their plan to raise money after expanding in the US by way of rights / placing.
Now we know many other companies have had the same problem even Centrica had £4bn of debt but chose to sell assets of £2+bn to pay off debt and also RR who raised some £2-£4bn but is still trying to sell off assets to pay that down.
So what options does CINE have, sell off assets or raise money and I think they will raise money of £1+bn and then have a consolidation by 10, they are all doing it, because they cannot take enough income to pay off the debt.
So although I am holding shares now I won’t be buying more until this happens and with the lock down to-date and not being able to pay back any debt so far , I think the time must almost be here to announce it.

I am surprised the directors bought shares in August at £4+ as they must have had a very good idea of these results in the pipeline.

So where is this going over the next few months. Following the share issue in 2020 at 40p to issue another 20% of shares then / now the buy back which leaves us with still too many shares , will they have to consolidate by 5 or 10.
But the shares haven't really progressed much when the market has made great gains. Any thoughts.

At times we all go comparing stocks to maybe get into or off of, been looking at getting back into ITV at almost the same as RR ie £1.15 but which has the biggest return in say 1-2 months?

Come on falk just how many times have you and others said that ( you won't see £115 again ) only for it to fall back to about £1 .I think we allknow that if we wait a little longer it will be back down again once the Dow & Ftse turn down.

I think most serious long term investor on here know just what the true numbers are in relation to the debt of cine and just choose to not take any notice of all the rubbish posted on here.
Everyone knows the biggest problem for cine is the large debt that will at some stage have to be paid down, but when is the question.!!! Cine must still be a very big gamble until that's been done.
