I think for now it is going to be sales volumes, margins and ultimately profits that will move this short term. Especially when the focus is on the LFT. Not that I agree that should be the case but once some real numbers come through it has to.
Logically if I was trying to value a business that is pretty likely to have a test that will get some traction. Its hard to put a number on that until I know if were selling 100k or 100m a month lets say and how much profit I am making on those 100K at £1 profit is VERY different to 100m at £2 profit. (numbers exaggerated for illustrative purposes of course)

Retireby40 thanks for sharing. Completely agree with BBN and I think the markets are generally very short sighted in most cases (especially on AIM where you have a much larger proportion of PI's rather that II's with research depts etc). Hence why the LFT seems to be the sole driver of SP.
II's took their position in the placing - conifer etc didn't buy in at 120p to be out on the LFT news at 200p or whatever it may be. They will have done their due dilligence and know what is in the longer term pipeline.
This I feel is why smaller pharmas tend to get bought out IMO as the progress behind the scenes, such as yeterdays RNS, goes largely unnoticed by the market. That presents a huge oppurtunity for a big pharma to come along and make offers at what are in reality undervalued companies.
Dermapers come along saying how can a loss making Co. justify a 300m mkt cap. There are so many small pharmas being bought in the billions range that are loss making. Add the current focus on quick medical developments...this is a game changing time for the industry.

That should put plenty of JPMorganphobes at ease and we can now move on.......to the important stuff like more drill results from Hav and our first from Scally

Interesting find Lenz - Lets just hope every 6 weeks the great drilling results continue and we edge closer towards Peter O'connor's idea that it may well be a tier 1 asset after his interview this week.

Throw in a hit as Scally or any other target and we are off to the races :) but this is not the billion $ mkt cap overnight kind of Co. It takes time and it seems most are happy with that and can hold as we have good indications of where this is going.

Good find spike! It sounds a bit clunky in its current form based on the below, but im sure it can be refined. We all know how much people love sport and especially how much people pine for things more when its been taken away (look at the pubs). I think plenty of people in Manchester would self isolate from "test day to match day" if it got them into old trafford for the Manchester derby

Selecta6 - why are you hung up on an NED instantly selling his relatively small portion of exercised options? Didnt see you coming out with this same criticism of GH and CB when they did it?
The guy had the opportunity to buy shares at 2.5p when current market value is 14.5p, a solid return. To crystallise that gain he has to sell them. The man is entitled to take some profits from his work in a company, which clearly is valuable as he has been given the options in the first place and look where the SP is.

Select6 - NED's are integral parts to businesses. Their advisory skills are seen by many to be "useless and overpaid" because we don't see what goes on in the board rooms. Dont forget these guys are hand picked for their connections and experience, no doubt they will have provided GH and co with guidance along the way to get us where we are now.

As paddy mentioned, he took a 21k salary from GGP last year, yes he may have a few of these but its pittance on a standalone basis. If he is paid in options, great, as he is incentivised by an increasing share price. The guy is cashing in a small portion of in the money options. We would all do the same - shareholders top slice, why cant NED's.
Okay maybe if they were direct shareholdings not options you may say they have more "skin in the game" but to me that applied more to board members involved day to day rather than NED's

sorry should have been clearer, I am not suggesting we hold back any news, of course we have to release any material proce sensitive information as soon as we have it. However, that principal is the same on ASX with NCM and they provide 6 weekly exploration updates. Can't see NCM receive all drill results for all holes like clockwork every 6 weeks for instant rrelease?
Just trying to work out how this might play out for Scally? Say there's 9 holes drilled over x period.....surely we dont have to release each drill result as it comes in, we would release one RNS with all 9?

Given we own 100% of Scallywag, am I correct in saying we aren't bound by any specific timelines to release news on progress there? i.e. we are at the mercy of NCM's 6 weekly updates for HAV but on Scally we could reasonably expect some more frequent updates?

Clearly LCs PowerPoint and proof reading skills are as shoddy as his CEO skills. Is it 15 or 24 months? Well you could put a range in your presentations so it gives you a bit of breathing room to miss a deadline!
Either way though, I think with the POG heading where it is, the project financials are very attractive. So long as we see this financing deal by 30 Sep and it’s a good one, Not sure the market will care too much if it’s 15 or 24 months to production.

Don’t think your missing anything Taverham. Happens every day without fail, drop in the morning to collect some shares and rise in the afternoon. Think that will be the case until the LFT RNS lands which seems to be the only thing the market is waiting for annoyingly. It gives us LTH chance to add at these levels though when news like today comes out showing how big this co COULD be (not a ramp just my opinion)

Darkspartan you are absolutely right. I think people forget this company wasn’t set up to create a Covid19 LFT. Every piece of news seems to be another new use for affimers it’s quite staggering. For LTH here this is another great vindication that the technology we have in affimers could be ground breaking. Daewoong are no small fish.
For people who are in here for the COViD play and either are underwater at the moment or want the LFT rise to get out and move on, nothing wrong with that strategy but a bit more patience is required. This is a pharma not a car manufacturer, there are no blueprints for this stuff.
The comments on it being a holding RNS. I don’t personally see it that way. Avactas part in this is done we are clearly waiting on other players in this puzzle to do what they need to do. The fact AS is out working on other partnerships (as he has said he would all along) gives me confidence this company is not putting all eggs in one basket. COViD Specific Lft developments Are a short term money generator and help showcase the use of affimers. But it’s these partnerships that will show how revolutionary they are.
The comments on you got £40m for the LfT so here it done. AS was very clear not a lot of that will go towards the LFT process, so people taking part in the placing will have known that (especially conifer). If that’s the PIs perception then so be it but again personally I think the placing was a shrewd opportunistic move that has allowed the company to progress avenues that would have been shelved for years. Sick of hearing about people unhappy with the placing but everyone can have their option.

Defintiely aware of these and I they were discussed on this bb in their early days. Useful now as there is nothing really better out there in the market currently. However, down sides that should render these no comparison should AVCT produce what we think they are looking for:
Oxford - 30min V Avacts 10min
Oxford - Swab V Avactas saliva based
Oxford - 84.38% sensitivity Vs Avactas TBC but we are pretty confident they are working towards 90+ (if not 95+)

Think you’re right CS on the exciting times ahead. If everyone needs the official test, which I personally think they would, 81m people through heathrow in 2019 - Just one airport and Uk only! Staggering potential (obviously footfall will be significantly lower for a prolonged period and AVCt unlikely to be able to produce such volumes) but still....

And also a lot of people, especially London say take some form of public transport to the airport be that tube or train. If you did it at home, nothing to say you haven’t contracted it on your journey there. Then they can’t ask everyone who enters heathrow how they got there to determine if they need a test or not. Think it has to be a blanket policy test before you come enter the airport.

It’s a fair point diplomat but what stops someone who knows they are positive (apart from some humanity and conscience) just taking an old negative test or one their friend has done to the airport? Think that’s why you would have to do it there, to ensure nobody is cheating the system

We can guess what it will get to on the hype around the share when (if just for balance) the LFT RNS arrives and is as good as we hope. I think to answer the question we need to know a lot more around volumes and manufacturing costs. To create a long term, stable valuation it’s going to have to be based partly on revenues and ultimately profits. We know the demand numbers roughly but until we know how many we can produce, at what cost and the profits from those sales the SP could go anywhere as it will be demand/supply based not necessarily balance sheet valuations
