Muppets spouting off today about how the BOD are greedy and crooked, only in it for themselves to take cheap shares. They can take cheap shares when they provide us with the necessary value - talk about skin in the game.

totally disagree here, you've missed the key part in the RNS, RETAIL DEMAND.

They have increased the allocation for RETAIL INVESTORS as it was so oversubscribed. They may have expected a lacklustre taking from retail investors given a placing was out of the blue. Which I would have completely understood. However, people clearly want in afetr digesting the 7am RNS.

Whats wrong with allowing the PI's who you may have annoyed with the placing extra allocation to the fund raise at a discount?

Come on, if the bohoo fellas are big takers in the placing (which i suspect they were a good chunk) of course theyre putting money where their mouth is! If I said to you do you want shares at price in the open market or at a discount - what would you say? Get a grip

I am wondering given this is a completely new space, if AVCT have sat back a little bit to let other players in the market test the water around funding / progress updates etc. GDR clearly did it the wrong way round, release news and place at a huge discount. This seems to have been received a lot better....4% "discount" to the moving average, £45m raised in a few hours, offered to PI's as well.
Let the others make mistakes and we can learn from that...onwards and upwards form here I think (assuming the tests work as well as we hope!!)

Definitely won’t get any, the iis already have these down up. They said we’ll pay 120 so that’s where the placing price was set. I think if iis are willing to pay 120 for a share making no profits to date, they have some confidence!

I definitely think the hype is dying down and people are becoming more blasé about it. However, we now have to crack on with opening the economies back up. The fear of a second wave is there so surely if we get this test up and running, the demand will be huge for many players. Airlines, care homes, hospitals, immigration borders. Australia/NZ have strict entry requirements pre COViD so sure this will be another box on the entry form!
So many countries haven’t hit the peak who need affordable testing to go back to work. Look at India, 2nd biggest population and no state help there for people on lockdown who rely on manual labour. If you ain’t getting paid you starve. If we can get an affordable test out there, surely the revenues from that bolster the so here but I fully agree the real value is in the POTENTIAL fact that we have started to show the real value of Affimers as a versatile medical product.

Been in AVCT since 2015, one profile, have 30k shares at an average of 65p, believe in the Co so I also have bought and held....no ramping from me and not bothered about these interim moves. Some who bought in at the top probably are bothered by the drop, my only question to you was why litter the bb with pump and dump when its dropping but at 190 no menetion of a pump and dump?

We're different people johnht - just more than one of us took a look at your previous posts. You were part of the pump telling people to buy and hold at 190, why not the same rhetoric now, surely if AVCT has a promising future you'd be doing this the other way round? Warning people at 190 it was pumped and now backing the potential science and promoting your buy and hold strategy even more....

The advantage of Avacta test is its poc and time - the accuracy is important but at post-collection.

Why not just top slice your initial investment plus an amount that is meaningful to you. I don't know your situation so your investment at 1000% may be life changing, pay off your mortgage etc. If that's the case do what makes your life comfortable, especially in these times.
However, to your comment of MCAP, £400m with an unknown resource of what most think will be 10m+ oz at Havieron ONLY, surely there is some value in holding here until at least the MRE and who knows, in that period we may even get some news on Scally. If any other spot hits, this MCAP will look miniscule. Worth leaving some in there I would say for the ride (just make sure you can afford to see it drop as this is AIM after all!)

Don't forget though, its not just the UK public this is aimed at...plenty of countries still on the up with cases, India, Brazil, Russia who will all need cheap testing to allow people to get back to predominantly manual jobs. Were lucky in the UK that we have state benefits, office jobs, WFH, furlough. Don't have that luxury in India, the second most populated country. If you cant work, you dont put food on the table simple as. They will need an affordable way to combat that conundrum.
In developed countries, you think countries that rely on tourism will just open the floodgates and airlines will let anyone on a plane? The demand fo testing will still be there for sure.
