Why would Woodside be mentioning Boil or Chuditch? More importantly the word Sunrise only occurs once in the whole document, which speaks volumes as to what their priorities are. I feel that Woodside's days are numbered as a JV partner in Greater Sunrise. I can't see Chinese and Kuwaiti firms investing $18bn in building a pipeline to TL and an LNG plant on the island only to have Woodside dick around. I expect Woodside to be bought out fairly soon by one of these new investors, or by Timor Gap, and the quicker it happens the better...
DILI, 07 November 2023 (TATOLI) - The President of the Republic, Jose Ramos Horta, said there are two international companies from China and Kwait that are interested in partnering with the Government of Timor-Leste to develop the Greater Sunrise Field to bring pipelines to Timor-Leste.
"The time is about to get an agreement with Australia on how to develop Greater Sunrise, we have previously had a big issue, as we are drawing the pipeline from Greater Sunrise to Timor-Leste with a very large budget because we have to spend 10-18 billion, but we have two investors from China and Kwait ready to contribute with the Government to develop Greater Sunrise," said Horta in.
He said that when Timor-Leste and Australia have a strong agreement to develop the Greater Sunrise field, the Government can contact the two investors to discuss how to invest money with the Government of Timor-Leste.
"The most recent Chinese company I have invited 30 people, who compared 60 in China, to Xanana, that they are willing to invest in Timor-Leste petroleum. As for a big comparison of Kwaits who have often come to Timor-Leste to meet with me, they want to invest billions to develop the Greater Sunrise field, "Shorta said.
