The holistic approach and the natural evolutionary cycle of product development was being usurped/ upended by OEMs/ etc and completey ignoring the crucial steps in between and so the mantra for AV changed hence autonowashing in the race to be first. Hence the back tracking and being burnt by the billions invested and then written off.

The phrase walk before you run comes to mind.

ACAB - just like with DMS, its about being ahead of the "end-game" so OEMs will be looking at this and have already anticipated this to be introduced at some point in the near future. Plans will already be underway to incorporate this into their next stage development cycles with their Tier 1 suppliers to add this to their test plans/ pilots and releasing this as part of the product in the future.

The stack should be able to accommodate this for :

1) New vehicles
2) Potential retro fitting (now that would be interesting)
