Report (see below) concerning current position with regard to advertising. What strikes me is the language and down beat impression given by Carolyn McCall - " I think". - "I hope that will last", she goes on to say she does not know what will happen in the near future or next year. Well nobody really knows but in her position she should be putting out as much (justified)positivity as possible and at least planning for the potentials of uncertainty. If this is an indication of her leadership, strategic oversight and portrayed image for ITV then she is doing the company a disservice. I am worried about where the share price is going despite being convinced it is under valued and over sold.
“There’s definitely a bounceback, and it’s very buoyant at the moment and that’s been really fantastic, but I think there is quite an element of bounceback in there and I hope that will last,” Carolyn McCall said at the Royal Television Society Convention in Cambridge on Wednesday.
She said ITV did not know how winter would pan out yet or what would happen next year.
