You are right when you said "Gold is rich men's, er Gold - Silver is poor man's Gold."
Which is why when precious metals go into a "bull run" gold outperforms silver in the begining. The rich buy the gold as they see it first. However in the second stage it is Silver that outperforms gold, as the poor copy ! Check history !

I feel sure KO if a good deal came along, AB would buy more assets. Look at history.
I also know he has a target for the level of the bonds, which he mentioned during a past GM.

However I wonder if the answer to the lagging share price is more simple than that !
The market is clinical and sees the obvious. That being, if you total up all our assets and minus all our debts we have a value of just a few million. Bugger all. (See NAV latest balance sheet). This is Mainly due to past impairments.
So today the market's value for us relies on increasing profits which the market sees us making to a lesser degree than we see. Today the market is only comfortable with a valuation of circa 500m. Which is much higher than our NAV. Enquest needs to show the market why we should be valued more !
Things such as GE deal, EP sale or lease, Reverse some of the Impairments now POO is much higher, fix Malaysia and other production issues. These are all key in the market letting the SP rise further, and our valuation with it !

I guess when Brent gets to $90.
At some point the US will panic at the price of oil. They will try and cool things down by releasing oil from their Strategic Reserve.. There has already been talk of this, possibly to offer a veiled threat to OPEC to act first. I think at $90 or absolute latest $100 we will see US release their oil. However it is only likely to have a short term effect.
Our biggest threat to high oil prices is not increasing supply, but demand being "choked off" by economies around the world not growing. Growth is already slowing in China and the supply chain issues are effecting everyone else. With prices rising also, a serious hit (reduction) in demand could surely come. The next few months are crucial to Oils performance in 2022.

This really p's me off. All this talk about co2 and a Renewables factory in the UK is one of Europe's biggest contributors to climate change !
Even ruddy worse. They get massive money paid to them by the British government to do this damage to our climate !

With this energy crisis power cuts around the world will happen even more, if the winter is colder than average.
What all this energy crisis proves to me is that our leaders/governments around the world are no more clever than you and I. Not one of them saw this coming ! Amazing !
And as for planning energy transission. They make more effort and time in planning their summer holidays - I bet !

I think that the government should place a "Windfall Tax" on those that have caused this energy crisis.
Namely those that have pushed, pushed and pushed for moves on climate change, green, renewables without thinking about any form of "Transition". These people should be paying for their mistakes !

On the video - There is a long advert you have to watch before the Goldman Sachs interview. He is a Strategist and not Analyst.

The gas shortage is a temp shock, however the in-coming Oil shortage is not ! it's going to be more long term ! So says Goldman Sachs analyst.

I think mrcc has a point.
Massive investment was spent in new oil projects in the build up to the Shale peak. This includes non shale projects too. Even we had some in the North Sea. Yes I can see some future projects but, I don't think you you will see this level of spend again. Here's why.
New energy is the future. Large Oil company's will need to split the money that they invest across the "old" and the "new".
This will ensure Mrc 's statement is likely to be correct. Then you add in things like the political view of wanting to look like a greener company. Not wanting to spend money on climate harming energy . I too think the world's total spend on new oil has peaked.

However with 3 months left it will surely stay with romaron - as even 3 months at current levels will struggle to move up the average that much. E121 may steel it if POO increases even further. GLA

Agree, I was thinking the same after looking at performance within our sector.
I have always thought that GE closing would bring a re-rate. Expecting to be in the early 30's by the time the man with the red face and white beard arrives - And no, I am not talking about romaron.
Looking forward to our 60p party, which could be in 2022 at long last. It's been a long long journey. Krakenoil and I set off in 2015 for this 60p party. I think we arrived before they built the venue ! I guess we have all learnt a lot over the years. Thankfully the Therapist joined us to calm us down. Those of us that have been here a while will remember his "healing hands". I miss old MO.
