Strong sales of new cars helped push revenues higher at luxury car retailer HR Owen during 2011, but the firm suffered in the second-hand market. HR Owen has fourteen sales franchises for brands including Aston Martin, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce. Like-for-like new car sales increased 15%, to 506, with a further 42 new cars being sold by the Broughtons business which was acquired in August. The best sellers were Bentleys and Ferraris

Journey Group, an in-flight products supplier, reported a 23% rise in revenue to £42.6m but a dive in adjusted pre-tax profit, from £1.2m to £0.37m. Despite this, adjusted earnings per share rose from a loss of 0.41p to 0.10p. Net cash rose from £0.2m to £2m. No dividend was announced. The firm said that following its turnaround it is now focusing on growth.

Parallel Media Group, a sports media and digital agency, has announed that its 50% owned subsidiary, Parallel Smart Media, is expanding into Asia via the creation of Parallel Smart Media Asia. PMG will have a 51% share in PSMA. Its core business areas will include sponsorship rights, acquisition and sales

Mission Marketing, a national marketing communications and advertising group, has posted a rise in revenue and pre-tax profit for the year ended December 31st. Turnover was up from £90.4m to £116m, while profit was up from £1.6m to £4.1m. Basic earnings per share were up from 1.67p to 4.35p. The board did not propose a dividend

Pursuit Dynamics, the fluid technology solutions developer, has said that following its recent fund-raising, the company's cash balances at March 23rd were £9.8m, while its cost-cutting programme has reduced headcount by 25% and reduced expenditure from around £1.2m a month to £1m a month, with plans to reduce it to £0.75 a month later in the current financial year. The company Chairman, Andy Quinn, said that the firm was making progress across all divisions.

Lo-Q, a provider of virtual queuing systems, has reported that its operational momentum has continued in to the first half of the current year. The company has earned considerable new business, particularly for its waterpark product, Q-band. Exisiting business has also performed well, with the company announcing a six year entention to its contract with 11 Six Flags Q-bot parks

Hydro International, a water products company, has won a contract worth £1m for its Hydro-Sludge Screen product. The screens will be installed at 10 municipal wastewater plans across east England. It is the largest Hydro-Sludge order to date

Commenting on the results Mattingly said: "2011 has been a phenomenal year for us, refocusing on our core product offer and the success of our Poker 6 platform has delivered exceptional growth across all key metrics." He added: "We are more than ready to take advantage of liberalisation in the industry. We have a unique position in the US allowing the launch of a real money offering immediately as either federal or state based regulation is finalised

What is clear is that 888 has managed to grow its customer base significantly and now has 10.6m "real money" accounts, a 22% gain on the figure at the end of 2010. The appointment of Mattingley, who has been deputy Chairman of 888 since 2006 fills the void created by the departure of Gigi Levy in April last year. 888 says so far 2012 has started brightly with average daily revenue "2% above the strong Q4 [fourth quarter] 2011"

EBITDA margin, which shows how much the company is actually making from revenues, increased to 17% from 11%. The company offers casino, poker and bingo games for customers and says it is primed to take advantage of changes to both European and US online gaming laws. The US market in particular could be a big revenue stream although 888 points out politicians have yet to agree whether to regulate at the state or federal level.

nline gambling outfit 888came up trumps in 2011 on the back of a sharp increase in new accounts. The company has reported a near doubling of income for the full year, while also naming Brian Mattingley as its new Chief Executive. Revenues grew 26% on 2010 to $331.1m while earnings before interest, tax depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) jumped 94% to $55.6m

"Llanos 62", located next to La Cuerva, is an exploration block, with no proved oil or gas production or reserves to date, and is currently undergoing a 3D seismic survey. GeoPark says it will fund the transaction from existing cash resources. In the 12 months to 31 December 2011, Hupecol generated revenues of around $68 million, and net income of approximately $21 million. The market likes the move, GeoPark had risen 10.5% by 11:27. Since January the stock has gained 33%

The Colombian spending spree of Latin America focused oil company Geopark has continued, with the group snapping up a private company that controls two exploration and production blocks in the country. The purchase of Hupecol Cuerva for a net $75m gives Geopark access to two 100% owned blocks. "La Cuerva" is currently producing around 2,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and has reserves estimated by GeoPark to be circa 8 million barrels.

First up is paper and packaging group Mondi (LON:MNDI), where analysts have upgraded the EPS forecasts by 15.8% for next year. Expectations on the figures had waned during the latter half of last year but there was an uptick in sentiment last month, with six upgrades. Indeed shares in the £3bn market cap group have been racing since the start of the year. That has all been helped by positive sounds from the group on improving trading conditions, stronger order books and signs that prices in some of its markets are improving.

Group revenue during the period rose from £49.6m to £54.1m year-on-year, but underlying profit-before-tax fell to £1m, compared to £2.2m the previous year. Earnings per share more than halved from 3.6p to 1.4p. The interim dividend was reduced from 3.25p to 1p per share.

"It is very pleasing to report a further aluminium smelter related project win which was the result of Alumasc Armaseam's technical solution and which followed a rigorous evaluation over several months," said Chief Executive Paul Hooper. The win is good news for the firm but won't help its 2012 figures. In February the company said that margin pressures had overshadowed revenue growth in the half year to December 31st and that full year results would be "materially below previous expectations".

Building and engineering products group Alumasc has won a 10 million pound contract to supply roofing to a large aluminium smelter in Canada. The firm said the majority of the revenue and profit from the new contract was expected to come in its financial years ending 30 June 2013 and 30 June 2014.

The order backlog is now in excess of £85m compared to £69.7m as at October 31st 2011. The group says overall profits will come in at least at the top end of current market expectations. Christopher Humphrey, the firm's Chief Executive, said he was "delighted" with the contract and added that @com "is the only proven large scale reservation system on the market today." Shares in Anite had jumped 9.6% by 10:22. The stock has now almost doubled in value over the last 12 months.

Anite, a company which makes software for the leisure industry, is all sunshine this morning after announcing a big contract win with Thomas Cook. The deal will see Anite implement its @com reservation system in Thomas Cook's UK "Mainstream" division. The result is that Anite now believes revenues and profits for the full year up to April 30th 2012 will be "at least" in line with those reported last year.
