Frontier IP Group, whcih sepcialises in commercialising inteelectual property of University research teams, has reported a year-on-year dive in revenue for the half year ended December 31st from £0.3m to £0.12m, a rise in loss before tax from £0.07m to £0.19m, which was in part due to increased overhead as the firm expanded team resource. Net assets per share fell from 50p to 39p. Cash balances as at December 31st 2011 were £0.299m (2010: £0.84m

Up for sale cancer drug developer Antisoma reduced losses during the half year ended December 31st despite failing to generate any revenue. The group reported a loss of £0.26m (2010: loss of £15.38m) with administrative costs reduced to £0.19m. At the end of the period the firm had cash balances of £13.56m and net assets of £12.27m. The board said the company is "in a good position to exploit opportunities as they emerge"

Transense Technologies, a provider of sensor systems for the transportation and industrial markets, said its IntelliSAW trading divison has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with EL PE Engineers, which will provide exclusive distribution for IntelliSAW's wireless/passive temperature monitoring system in the Indian market. In return for exclusive terms EL PE has agreed to a minimum revenue target over the next two years of $375,000.

Clean energy projects group Camco has won - as part of a joint venture with Tanzania-based solar contractor Rex Investment - a contract worth $4.7m to bring solar power to off-grid communities in rural Tanzania. Pre-tax profit at recruitment firm Empresaria slumped by 71% from £6.5m to £1.9m in 2011. The major reason for this was lower profits in Germany, where new collective bargaining agreement required the group to raise pay rates for some of its temporary works and to incur significant legal fees. Meanwhile revenue rose 1% from £206.8m to £208.9m with growth held back by falling sales in the UK.

Fashion retailer Ted Baker revealed a 14.9 per cent increase in annual revenue while pre-tax and exceptional posts profit rose 11.7 per cent after a strong performance across all of its divisions. The clothing company, which is planning new stores in London, Fifth Avenue, Toronto, Canada and China later this year, said the new financial year has started well in all of its markets despite the challenging environment

Specialist flooring company Airea has again faced challenging market conditions in the first six months of the current financial year. Revenue for the period was £13.9m (2010:£15.1m), operating profit was £139,000 (2010: £349,000) and profit after tax was £114,000 (2010: £94,000). Basic earnings per share were 0.25p (2010: 0.20p). Operating profit came under pressure as raw material inflation worked through into margin; an improvement in pension related finance costs led to an increase in profit after tax and growth in earnings per share

Environmental Recycling Technologies has received a notice of allowance of a US Patent Application entitled 'Process for Forming Plastic, Apparatuses for Forming Plastic and Articles Made Therefrom'. This patent is ERT's core patent in the US for the Powder Impression Moulding (PIM) process which is a process capable of converting mixed waste plastics into a wide range of commercially viable products. Philippines-focused Medusa Mining has lowered its production forecast for the current year after it had to take four large leach tanks at its Co-O mine out of operation for emergency repairs. The shut-down of the four tanks will limit the throughput to around 700 tonnes per day for the quarter, and in combination with some electrical upgrades the company is planning, 2012 production guidance has been revised to 60,000 - 65,000 ounces from 75,000 ounces. Remedial work on the tanks, expected to take four to five months, will commence in April and will be at the contractor's cost, the firm said.

US oil giant ConocoPhillips is to exercise its option to acquire a 70% equity interest in three eastern Baltic Basin concessions of 3Legs Resources, an independent oil and gas group. 3Legs said the deal will enable the company, together with ConocoPhillips, to continue the exploration and appraisal of its three western concessions in the Baltic Basin. 3Legs added that, as at February 29th, the company had unaudited cash and cash equivalents of £48.1m
