The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Chaebol - If I felt like that I probably wouldn't spend my time here. You are very charitable helping everyone else to avoid losing their money...
Chaebol - there is no expert consensus on Bitcoin short term projections, but I am seeing more reports suggesting $40k bottom with upturn incoming now than predicting further significant drops. No one really knows, but I'm happy to gamble on an increase.
Pennylots - Allthough they may have helped orchistrate the pushback, it wasn't the green agenda that stopped fracking, rather the concerns around seismic activity generation from the NIMBYs. I do agree that it would make sense to revisit the decisions given our energy crisis, but don't hold much hope in the near future. IGas would skyrocket with any credible movement in this area.
IP - Agree - hope this is a dynamic appointment. IGas are trying lots of divesification methods, but I'd like to see them push harder and shout a little louder...
Pretty concerning TBH. The paragraph comparing trailing financing costs to pre covid EBITDA is damning if accurate, although the financing costs seem on the high side. Article does seem a little one sided and fails to point out the one thing that gives me most faith in the percentage owned by the Greidingers. Pretty sure Mooky and co. will fight tooth and nail to avoid a debt for equity swap unless it is on their terms.
Whilst we all squabble about Bitcoin movement, funding of machines and comparisons to competitors with many times higher market caps, ARB continue mining away with another 214 bitcoin added in Dec. If we assume a conservative 5k bitcoin hodl by year end and guesstimate ongoing mining revenue at that point it is hard to see ARB as anything other than a good bet.
If you think Bitcoin will be worthless look elsewhere, but I would certainly be woried about having no crypto exposure in my portfolio and I see ARB as good as any of them. I also hold some Bitcoin and Ether, but I feel miners have more potential on balance. GLA
Also meant to add that the share consolidation has to be a good thing. I was unable to set credible limit buys or sells on my freetrade account because it limits the decimal places. Only dowside is the loss of free advertising as VELA was regularly in the league table for volumes on here, not that it did much for the Sp…
Like any investment vehicle the diversification will limit the upside but should in theory minimise volatility. Although VELAs strategy investing in early technologies works against this I would still feel disappointed if I had been here long. If you accept where it is, it looks like value from this point.
I am sure that we all agree that SGS is the most exciting prospect, but if we assume worst case that it turned out to be worth naff all, VELA would survive and potentially have the means to find a path to recovery.
KNB up 18% today. I like MODE app which I use daily , even though company isn’t perfoming well, its product is good and has significant potential to grow and expand into other currencies. CODE is doing fine. No idea about the potential for weshop, but I like the basic premise of swapping shares for custom and referrals.
These are the reasons I took up a modest position this week. GLA
It is. Anomaly trade just dropped the mid below the bid price momentarily.
Anyone know who the interested parties in the purchase are?
Ignore my post on UKOG - too early. Principle remains, but RNS for ANGS only.
Similar RNS from ANGS. https://www.londonstockexchange.com/news-article/ANGS/strategic-review-and-formal-sale-process-launched/15276339
Interesting RNS from UKOG reinforcing my views on Igas. https://www.londonstockexchange.com/news-article/ANGS/strategic-review-and-formal-sale-process-launched/15276339
There could be potential synergies with Igas, but even failing this, interest generated in the sale process could cause a rerate for igas. Fingers crossed
Ian, I believe that repurposing existing assets for deep geothermal is on the list of potential initiatives. Loads of potential here, but unfortunately none of the diversification initiatives getting significant traction yet.
Pretty sure Putin has much more of an impact on energy prices than Bitcoin. Could argue that Bitcoin going green is helping to sustain renewables development and adoption.
Bought Vela this morning. Been watching from the sidelines for a while. Hoping this is near the bottom. KNB up 10% this morning, i like MODE’s app, no idea about Weshop potential but movement has to be a positive. I know that SGS is the one everyone thinks has most potential but there seems to be reason for optimism beyond that. GLA
£0.2m increase in debt, £0.4m increase in cash. If nothing else it looks like core business is funding all of the diversification plans successfully. You could think of Igas as a green energy new start with much of the funding risk covered. 2022 Hedged production nearly 40% higher in 2022 which is no surprise, but nice to get confirmation.
Many had predicted a drop 31 Dec as many American holders sell to lock in profit/loss for tax purposes. Back over $47k now and hoping for a good few days as buy back continues. Happy New Year all.
He may have been taking out a hit on Ellis... or Barbara... ?
What a cheek Disney have. My Orlando park access tickets were £2.5k and that was on a special rate.
Outcome of case was an abomination, but I agree it will be hard to overturn. The award in contrast will be changed dramatically. I seem to recall reading that judge awarded synergies as there was no challenge from CW on them. CW probably thought they were so ridiculous that they wouldn’t need to challenge. Easy challenge in appeal. SP movement on both sides gives you an idea of where the market thinks this will land in the end. £150m?
