Although it represents a loss, coming out of this with most of our investment returned is a decent outcome IMO. Agree with focus on UK and O&G going forward. Hope market agrees.

Interesting to see comms team waking up to the opportunity here. One post across February and March followed by 12 so far in April with a notable absence of deep geo. Star is heavily dependant on government strategy but the tide is turning. A lot of chat about North Sea offshore, with even SNP, the most staunch challengers changing tact. Only a matter of time before this filters to onshore and potentially opening the debate on fracking again. Decades of hydrocarbon use ahead of us through the energy transition. Lets stop funding our enemys and transporting substances across the world when we are literally sitting ontop of our own.

Starmer has identified the problem, but not the solution. Renewable investment is a long term solution which I am fully behind but will not get us away from reliance on Russia and the Middle East in the next two decades. 85% of UK households use gas for space heating and our whole network would require reinforcement/rebuild if we were to switch to electric. I recall a stat that space heating would require a six fold increse in electricity capacity - not sure how recent/acurate it is, but the point is that there is more to the solution that renewable capacity as the Networks could not cope. It is not rocket science we need to utilise our own hydrocarbon resources at the same time as developing renewables. Shipping LNG across the Atlantic, a large proportion of which has been fracked and enriching Russia and Middle East and Scandinavian countries with our 'Hard earned' whilst leaving our own resources untapped is bonkers.

Agreed. Great results. This was already undervalued based on historic performance IMO. The capex spend over the next 15 months is not far off the MCap before todays rise. Whilst debt to equity ratio will come under pressure as £25m of capex is being funded by loans, the equity should rise with the increased capacity and efficiency. A really solid business here which feels like it is sheltered somewhat from the ongoing global turmoil.

STAR are well placed to do well out of the global enegry turmoil if it continues. With the Farage affect and the Tories changing position on drilling and also softening rhetoric on Fracking, STAR could win big. Ultimately the current position of importing hydrocarbons rather than using our own resources is perverse and reality that we have decades of use ahead of us is starting to sink in. My only concern with holding STAR is that they are pumping so much cash into deep geo without sharing any plans on monetizing this going forward, even if it is a long term aspirational plan - we are getting nothing back beyond a loss of cash at present. I don't want to sound negative about deep geothermal as I am not, it is proven technology and part of the reason that I hold STAR, but we need a business plan.

I can't recall igas having a £2b mcap, nor any sigbificant dilution so assume your 99% is tongue in cheek? It is acurate to say that LTHs are heavily underwater but this is largely due to successive governments policies completely missing the value of remaining on local hydrocarbon sources rather than relying on imports.

Been a while since we saw over 100 trades in a day. Signs of a persistent buyer remain with a number of larger trades on, or close to the mid price. Gyllenhammar still gathering them up? We may get an RNS to confirm soon.

Whilst volumes remain pathetic, there appears be a lack of supply and a consistent buyer. I hope this is more than just Farage speculation and general interest in the primary sector. This could move fast on any good news

Star continues rising. Whilst the volumes are still low, it looks like someone is building a position in bite size chunks a few £K at a time. Whilst oil and gas have recovered a bit, that doesn't really explain the movement. It's this just a long overdue correction or something brewing?

Card has done a decent job of growing market share in a stagnant marketplace. I don't think that the card market is going to moon any time soon, but there is still significant demand and it is a big markup product with limited stock/waste risk so I'm happy to accept the risk. Lots of potential upside if demand recovers and Funky P gets traction.

Remember that only half the tat that people carry out of card shops are cards. Balloon market is strong. You could say it is ballooning (Sorry) and helium price is settling.

I have however bought into this drop. Seems like potential value for me with potential upside in a spending squeeze and investment in online.

I wasn't expecting a price this low today. I was expecting to hold and watch this morning but have purchased another 240k shares at just over 0.22. Clearly not without risk but there is more upside than down even if it only gets to the 0.3 offer. Fingers crossed for an RNS with interest from another party.

Open @ 0.25 rise to 0.31, then kick about between 0.29 to 0.31 until next news.

It is nice to see some movement here even though volume is pathetic. Last month's half year report was solid enough. Six month EBITDA of £4.5m including loss of £1m on Geothermal and an MCAP of £11m remains hard to rationalise. The penny will drop with current (or a future) government that sustainable energy is going to come from diversified portfolio of sources. I would prefer to never see Farage in No.10 but Star would surge if he did IMO. We will still be using hydrocarbons in 50 years and geothermal is a no-brainer as a part player. I have renewables in my portfolio and also believe in Hydrogen, but Star is my biggest energy holding as I see value and believe in their strategy.

This hit a quid on Truss's fracking drive. Whether Farage makes a credible run or not in the next election, his rhetoric is likely to put a spotlight on the potential which may even force some of the mainstream parties to review their positions on it.

Madjid - I'm sure that you are aware that the enterprise value that Sidara's offer puts on WG is much higher than their offer as you need to consider the debt they would adopt.

Sidara would likely have wanted to strip any non core assets later to accelerate return of their cash injection. Assuming their offer was sufficient to appease the lenders, there is a decent chance that a less distresses Wood could have achieved a significantly better price. The more Wood can package up and sell for a decent price the less they need Sidara and the less attractive Wood will become to them.

The timing of Sidara's statement yesterday doesn't seem coincidental with the RNS today. I suspect that they wouldn't have wanted the sale to Siemens to go ahead as it makes more sense for WG than Sidara. I'm in the camp that 35p is too cheap, but wouldn't want Sidara to pull out in the short term as it helps with stability (a floor of sorts) when accounts are published and it comes out of suspension.

No reason this can't continue to grow. Underlying performance is holding up well given the currency headwinds. $100m share buyback and Non Exec purchase of £16m suggest the internal view is bullish.
