PDT - Where are you getting any indication of an RI from?
Inflation often hits bottom of market more as margins tend to be slimmer, but I don't think you can suggest CARD are doomed given they are generating significant cash and making a nice return. I see the greeting card market as likely to contract going forward, but the home party market is growing with baloons and other tat that goes along with them creating potential opportunity. CARD have increased market share by driving closure of many competitor stores and their offerings remain popular. Fundamentals say to me that SP remains cheap and as above I think there is lots of further potential upside.
Bitcoin not pretty today. Arbk seems to have steadied at just over a quid though so I guess our opening price will depend largely on Bitcoin movement from this point. I'm in for more of it opens at 90p.
Emma. No-one should really invest without thinking for themselves and critiquing others shared or published views. What is a real journalist at the end of the day?
That £272m looks at potential earnings at current Bitcoin prices which some say has the potential to double or more. Article does appear to underplay the impact of other miners increasing hash, but these two factors would work against each other. I think most of us will concur with the general sentiment in the article as thats likely why we’re here.
SP is a little disappointing today. NASDAQ closed at £1.04 and Bitcoin has strengthened since then. Would be nice to be more comfortably over a quid.
Janaa- good note, I agree with sentiment around CARD. Good numbers and debt reduction have to send us north. PE however is based on net earnings, not EBITDA. Good luck.
I don’t recall too many thinking Cineplex would win as the case progressed. Outcome was an abomination. We all thought Cineworlds confident approach was the right one, but judge has clearly took exception to arrogant stance, but I think Canadian protectionism is likely to be the underlying issue. Who would want to do business in Canada now? This is my worst share of 2021, but I still have faith. Have a good Christmas all.
Hard to value crypto miners using traditional methods. Data centres have some residual value, but hodl is the real asset.
What is the point of valuing helios? Argo would only consider selling if mining became unprofitable for any reason and the value would crash in that scenario anyway. Asset value could increase with crypto, but again unlikely to liquidise in that scenario either.
Nice sustained upward pressure all day. Hope for more tomorrow.
Nice start to recovery today. Way oversold.
9% jump into closing with couple of price monitoring RNS’s sounds great….. but…. all that for £40 quid after hours… Grrrrr
What happened ARBK last half hour? Bitcoin rising but SP took a big knock. Over 47k is nice to see.

Quote from yourself 2 July 21 on CINE "Once bozo announces all restrictions are cleared this month this will rise nicely through the pound zone."
You fall out of love?
I agree with the prinicpal of inflationary pressures Aimitan, but there are pound shops everywhere and inflation is a very recent issue...
Dipped my toe in at 1.01. seems like a good recovery play - inflation will reduce when oil/gas settles and covid is on the way out after the next wave...
42 - first yellow would stay down?
"However, as regular cinema-goers will know, those with a seemingly reasonable case do not always emerge as victors."
We could just send them around 6m 1 year unlimited passes and tell them to enjoy. If they appeal we could upgrade them to 4dx...
