No reason an open placing for all share holders could not have been applied if funds were required.Many share holders could and would have taken the opportunity to protect their percentage holding and others could have sold their rights as per normal. This is the agreed and honest way of getting more funds and fair to all including the Chinese.Not that I imply Allenby or anyone else did anything illegal but the way it was done given a month to pay up shows there was no manic rush for cash and one wonders why this was necessary. Somebody started a shareholder forum sometime back, could the question of why "No Open Placing" was used in this instance? Also can the Forum not call for an EGM on this matter?

Negative issues in Australia and Europe due to regulation changes should be more than matched by the potential now available in the US. An one year expected 6% drop in profits from the Company peak of $137million last year imo is of little concern.All growing businesses are entitled re-align and drop some dead wood. Monday morning and what do I read read here dividends,buybacks,staff schemes no growth opportunities and PPi highing somewhere but it will come.Everyone here has taken an opinion and will not change their mind,it their right.But we have been blind sighted by a BoD that have no action plan for the future of this Company by way of a conscious development plan, they are simply devoid of ideas and blame interest rates ,brexit and the general economy.They can however pass enhanced DIrector share schemes and say things will get better after PPi is resolved etectra. If AHO and his minions cannot develop this Bank with its solid foundations and years of woe behind it what could they develop?Nobody has built a wall anywhere to stop expansion,except themselves in their own minds. Its time our Chairman started looking for replacements if only to give ASPERGER a rest from putting a brave face on a withering share.Time we made some real money. Morning all.

Tophat, what a load of nonsense that somebody said we would gain from organic growth preferably. From where?They also supposedly said acquisitions made from surplus capital at end of year.Banks in particular know their Balance sheet at the end of every day and can be ready to buy faster than any other business.End Of Year,are you joking? It isn`t the share price trend that will make any large investor i.e., Fund Managers buy is it? Then we have the share dividend being reduced in real terms by 33% due to the senseless buyback scheme. Sometimes and this is not personal because others have trotted out the same trash, I wonder where you all dream up this nonsense. Do you not realise cash is king and is what Fund Managers look for day after day not some unattainable promised land.

If a BoD cannot find a way to profitably use �4.5 Bn the sensible thing to do would to give up and look for a buyer with ambition and drive.Lets be positive however and believe they will place the funds in a new International Division for say the Far East where new money is craved.Also they could look to the City for experienced Men and Women to manage such a division,as i would have little faith in them finding such staff from their own ranks. Not only would this be a lot more Tax efficient and profitable but would show Lloyds is really open for business. Just my opinion,as I like to see money being put to work for genuine long term benefit. Good morning all.

Then Lehman`s unravelled and the pitiful directors couldn`t believe how stupid they were.We know the rest it is history and don`t try to rewrite it. I would love to say it won`t happen again but it will, car and credit card lending isn`t going to go the same way it is already there.Throw in 0-1% interest rates, printing money,trade wars and a new bunch of innumerate Central Bankers and the only question is when. By the way there is a reason people buy Gold. The sun is shining now buy rain is always around the corner.

The uk to me has one major problem above all.Our politicians irrespective of Party are not up to the job and nobody of quality is interested in getting tarred with the same stick.Our brain power will hold its own anywhere in the world but they would be daft to go anywhere near Westminister or the devolves.
