I must take exception to you bringing up the name of Derek Hatton, he never was a Conservative and how dare you associate him with the party.I am well known for being apolitical but many here are easily led and i feel obliged to put the record straight.He was not a thatcherite and indeed some would say if anything he was a little to the left of mainstream politics . He was a distinguished orator and had a way with people, his political skill made him much sought after by talk shows and although he disliked notoriety he occasionally obliged his supporters by turning up.
He in no way was party to the Tory infighting of the 80`s or the massive loss of Black Wednesday.He won several court case`s proving his highest integrity and I believe he left the Country against the wishes of the majority to live a humble and contemplative life.He was and is sadly missed at this time of our greatest need.
