Well, to keep you up to date, Sidara too valued Wood at 85p: 35p per share for shareholders and $450 million cash for the company (equates to 50p).

The bad news is that the Wood share price is likely to drop tomorrow (but never say never!). I certainly will be adding substantially at a mere 18p in order to reduce my average even further.

The good news is that next week the shorts will have to close and bargain hunters will buy in the knowledge that the Sidara purchase of Wood is on track (the Wood RNS next week should confirm that).

@Rock8 If you are referring to me - I am 'keeping it real'. I answered this earlier at 9.50pm under a different thread. I made it clear that institutional investors were selling. I posted as below (summary):

Easy - not rocket science at all. Some institutional investors cannot be invested in companies that enter or are deemed to enter suspension due to risk policies. Many private investors do not want to 'tie up' cash into suspension. Some investors may think the Wood-Sidara deal will not proceed, in which case - as per the Wood RNS it will need to sell assets and/or dilute shareholders to raise cash.

@Surin Ken at Wood advised Wood shareholders to hold. Many decided to sell.

The Wood share price has dropped further this week.

Had those same shareholders held, the Wood share price would have been stable. A stable (i.e. higher) Wood share price would have put pressure on Sidara to close the deal quickly at 35p.

As it stands, a low Wood share price (i.e. currently 18p) now makes Sidara's bid of 35p appear very generous.

Imagine if the Wood share price actually rose to 40p (on a positive Wood RNS or news of another bidder entering the fray), Sidara would have to raise its bid to 50p.

Funny how markets work.

@Medjed The Wood share price can easily be manipulated to flush out private investors. Certain 'forces' often sit on both sides of the ledger i.e. long and short. They push the share price up and dump it just as quickly to A) Create fear of missing out (EG new bidder, takeover approved etc) or B) Create fear and doubt (EG Wood to enter administration etc). Private investors often invest based on emotions (whether they admit it or not) fear-based, or greed-based. It's just the market at play. Try to block out the noise and instead connect the dots with the known factors in play at the time.

@mickykay65 Just checked the RNS - that is quite normal. Tax related. Nothing to be concerned about at all.

With Wood the suspension will be temporary as they finnalise their accounts. Further, Wood is effectively 'for sale' with a buyer ready, willing and able to buy. Big difference.

On the plus, come Monday next week, the shorts will close and bargain hunters will buy, both of which will send the Wood share price upwards.

For those who are awaiting Sidara's purchase of Wood for 35p, the current share price is completely irrelevant, other than to top up on the dips in order to realise more profit when Sidara's payout is made.

Remember too that Sidara always wanted a quick buy...it is Wood that is slow with its series of car-crash RNS releases over teh last 2-3 weeks that has slowed negotiations down.

Back to matters at hand.

As predicted, Wood share price down in a days in the lead up to suspension, so you may want to close your short tomorrow, as I would say tomorrow will be the low before the suspension date. Besides, I will be adding significant sums tomorrow to average down further. Lol

Come Monday to Wednesday shorts will need to close, so share price will likley rise into suspension next week.

Also, Wood will issues an RNS will next week prior to suspension - probably to confirm Wood enters suspension, preparation of audited accounts well under way (hopefully provide an estimated time to completion for audited accounts for 2024), lenders agree waiver to X date, and discussions with Sidara around agreed terms are on track.

I have not changed my outlook that Sidara will buy Wood for 35p per share and inject £450M cash into Wood. This is a great deal for Sidara and takes them into the BIG league. Obviously, Sidara will not walk.

Crazy last 3 weeks for Wood and its investors. However, good times ahead for newer shareholders and those who have averaged down significantly.

Yes that must be the reason why Sidara is still at the table and in joint (with Wood) discussions with WOOD's lenders. Lol

If you believe that will happen you ought to hold your short position into suspension and cash in on the carnage, but you won't do that, instead you will close your position before suspension imho
