Instead my advice is to take your own council as to whether or not you invest in a stock. If you have any doubts take professional advice. There endith the lesson.

@sharebel. You are right about those who spread incorrect news. Time you looked in the mirror. After all it was you who said that Goldman Sach is an investor in Wood Group. Whereas the truth is Goldman Sach is short and reducing their position!

@Sharebel Goldman Sach is short on Wood Group. Do try to keep up with events old chap.

Wood Group will remain in FTSE250. If Sidara buy Wood Group then wood grip will leave the FTSE250, so ‘membership’ of the FTSE250 could become a mute point in due course.

@Coldspy. Undoubted pressure on 40p at the moment. But the next meaningful movement in Wood Group share price will only occur on an RNS. But as Sean Connery would say ‘Never say never’!

Goldman Sachs bought in (as a short) just prior to appointment of external interim CFO at 3.23 percent. Today’s RNS shows Goldman Sach reduced to 2.81 percent.

Connect the dots…follow the money flows.

How did JO predict very early on that the Wood Group share price would climb to 40p and pause for thought?

Why 40p? Why not 30p, 35p, 45p… or be like many here and why not say to 50p or 60p…?!

I have mentioned very early on what could be determined as a commercially reasonable price range (i.e. 85p to 95p) as Wood Group currently stands with all that is known to date. Sidara's offer may be in excess of 95p.

Sidarra is Wood Group's natural buyer, and they know exactly how Wood Group will fit into their business model. However, there are a couple of hurdles to overcome. Not insurmountable, but hurdles nonetheless. It will take negotiation on both sides.

Importantly, Wood Group's institutional investors want a deal. They were blindsided by Wood Group's update and questions have been raised about cash flow issues, and the need to sell assets.

Wood Group's employees want assurance about the future....Sidara, or Wood Group. Employees are rightly concerned about Wood Group's announcement of significant extentions to cost reduction plans (i.e. translation means potential job cuts), as well as cancellation of staff bonuses.

Negotiations can be agreed or cancelled on a dime. Time will tell.

In the meantime, Wood Group's share price will fluctuate somewhat. When the RNS comes it will either rocket uopwards towards the moon, or sink to the depths of Mordor. Lol (oops sorry Isle...I forgot no sense of humour allowed...Lol)

Just to add Isle. I join in of these LSE discussion boards as a bit of light relief. I am invested across many stocks, but only comment on a few of the boards...mainly the ones I find funny. Far too many 'investors' are very serious. Especially those with rather odd names like 'Isle'...

I am sorry if the would 'Lol' must mean I do not work in corporate finance sector. I can assure you I am quite the professional, and believe it or not I and many of my colleagues do in fact have a sense of humour. Now, accountants on the other hand...

Of course, if you look at my posting history beyond Wood Group, you will see that I have always mentioned I work in the finance sector. In fact some of my 'friends' over at the Capita discussion board think of me as their local 'Natwest branch manager'. Lol...opps I did it again! Lol...oops!

As mentioned 'Isle' I don't think we have met. Nor do I belive I have met 'IceCool', 'BeardedDragon', 'CaptainSwag', 'predator7' (never mind preditor6,5,4,3,2 or 1 for that matter), 'Valueseeker'... No, none of those names ring any bells with me. Mind you 'Scubamike', now I did go suba-diving on the Great Barrier Reef a number of years ago...could it be that...?! Lol oops, sorry once again!

What was my source when when very early on I predicted that Wood Group would be a takeover target well before the Deloittes review was completed (i.e. when everyone shouted from the rooftops that there is no way there will be a review before the review was completed and outcome known)?

What was my source when very early I predicted the Wood Group share price would climb and then hover at 40p (i.e. not break out) for sooo looong (when most everyone else said, '50p, 60p soon' etc ...?

All IMO of course.

Talks between Sidara and Wood Group remain constructive.

Still a couple of hurdles - being worked on.

Overall it is clear that Sidara and Wood Group want deal finalised soon. Sidara and Wood Group aware that employees unhappy with cancellation of bonuses etc. Hence the need for a positive outcome. Wood Group in substantial talks with Institutional Investors. Progress made on all sides.

Lot of talk about the shorts here. However, shorts have taken a punt at reasonably low levels in terms of GBP on the table and based their punts on previous offers and negotiations, which were unsuccessful. Further, shorts took up positions before Institutional Investors 'suggested' the now external interim CFO was appointed. Shorts are concerned, but have taken their punt, so will let the game play out on the hope the cash offer is unsuccessful.

Time frame to close deal still within 14 days from first announcement.

Still no other interest from other parties in Wood Group at this stage.

Probability to close the deal remains 60-40 in favour, leaning towards 65-35 in favour.

As predicted, Wood Group share price up AM today. However, as predicted very early on, Wood Group share price to continue to hover at 40p and pause for thought. Will most likely only break out upon confirmation of RNS. At that point it will be too late for retail investors to invest and ride the wave.

All IMO of course.

Capita's results on 6 March will effectively be the equivalent to AH's 'report card'...after taking over what was, frankly, a complete and utter mess of a company.

While I know what I am after in AH's report card - I have no expectation of Capita's share price movements. It will be the 'report card' that governs the next share price move up or down.

Good or bad AH's report card will make for an interesting read!

If AH's report card is good I will add. If bad I will hold. I will not sell (...unless AH says he is off to pastures new)!
