RE: RNS closer now?4 Mar 2025 21:01
@Isle 'HAHA JO. You gave me such a hard time for suggesting 90p both parties would be happy. You have lost all credibility. Banker my A**E'
Firstly, I do not recall having a conversation with you about Wood Group's share price - only that you mentioned you have been involved with M&A, and I instantly mentioned that we have M&A in common. However, with your above statement, you have shown your true colours with your aggresive comment, tone and your expletive. After your outburst, I actually do not think you have been involved in M&A.
Secondly, I did not say that 'both parties would be happy with 85p-95p'. You are trying to put words in my mouth.
Thirdly, I do not care if you think I am a banker or not...the other day, you were adament that you have not met me. You are right - I have never met anyone called er, what was it again, oh yes...'Isle'?!
In my reply to Rob-50 question directed at me, I said that 'Initially I thought very early on that a fair price would be 85p to 95p', which I happened to estimate in about 20 minutes, based on the information to hand and when the Wood Group share price was in the 30p range. This was my 'valuation' on the company in terms of a fair (not good) offer. It does not mean that Wood Group would be happy to accept such an offer, nor was it a particularly 'considered' valuation (i.e. I quickly worked it out on the back of a scrap of paper).
I then went on to say that I have recently researched Sidara and have concluded that Sidara is likely to offer more than this. I have determined a new price, but I will keep this to myself...other than to say it is higher than 95p. My reasons are several on the Sidara side, and includes the recent changes that have taken place at Wood Group also. EG Wood Group's appointment of an external interim CFO who is alos on the Wood Group BOD to negotiate a deal and explore effective finance/debt solutions. All of which meant that I have taken a different view on the possible offer price. Personally, I think that is fair enough.
All speculation on the offer price here or anywhere else is just that - speculation. If Wood Group's counter-offer is pie-in-the-sky, the result will be that Sidara decides to walk off into the sunset.
It is for that reason I mentioned to Rob-50 that the real question is whether or not Sidara and Wood Group want to do the deal; and if yes, then what price is agreeable to both parties. We will find out soon enough.
Isle, I do not want to communicate with you further as you have called me a liar with regards to my professional occupation and added an expletive to boot. You can save your aggresive attitude and swear words for your mates down at your local pub, as you lean on the bar and flirt with your local barmaid...Mabel aged 83. Goodbye.
