@Rob-50 Given Wood Group's current situation i.e. in terms of financials, balance sheet etc. I initially thought very early on that a fair price would be 85p to 95p. However, like all takeovers it depends on how the buyer views the acquisition. As I have researched Sidara, I have arrived at the conclusion it makes sense for them to offer more than this. I have determined a new price, but I will keep this to myself...other than to say it is higher than 95p.

The most important two questions to ask are:

1. Does Sidara want to do a deal?

2. Does Wood Group i.e. Wood Group's institutional investors want to do a deal?

The answer to both questions is: Yes, if the price is right. If not, Sidara walks.

Back to the subject line...'RNS closer now'?. Answer: How close is 'close'...

Incorrect. Sidara want the deal (cash offer for all of Wood Group accepted) quickly or they will walk. Sidara do not want protracted negotiations. Sidara does not want to make it 'easy' for another interested party to enter into talks.

The Wood Group refinance process is par for the course.

The lenders will look at a number of areas including Wood Group's profit and loss and balance sheet over the last few years, as well as their cash-flow forecast. I could continue, however, given I work in corporate finance (...not as a NatWest branch manager!) I will say no more, other than Wood Group can obtain corporate finance under favourable terms.

I predicted there would be an offer for Wood Group before the Deloitte review was completed. I was shouted down as almost everyone thought there is no way anyone will bid until the review was completed and known.

I predicted very early on i.e. around time Sidara's 'expression of interest' was announced, that Wood Group's share price would climb to 40p, and pause for thought (so far the share price has acted as expected). At that time, all I read was '50p, 60p, 70p incoming' etc.

I predicted the Sidara and Wood Group negotiations would be concluded preferably within 5, but no more than 14 days. I predicted, Wood Group's share price will only have a meaningful change (i.e. from circa 40p) after the RNS is out.

So far 2 out of 2...let's see if it will be 4 out of 4...?!

Who benefits? It's obvious...Sidara. End of.

Good podcast. I like the fact the CH is confident in production. Also that CH is open to a partnership, and even a takeover if the price is right for shareholders. Flexibility is important, and CH has that.

In the meantime, I await the Zephyr test results. If positive, I will happily add to my investment here.

Just took a quick look here...

Firstly, I can see that SavageKeyboard is back. What's the bet he has another 'day off work' (from his self declared 'blue collar job...sounds like a primary school janitor to me) like last time so he can provide his own running commentary (its all about the 'revenue') on the Capita results...a stock he is not even invested in...for the 'benefit' of any would be Capita investors and current Capita shareholders. What would we all do without Savage?! Lol

Secondly, I can see that SavageKeyboard and AimMaster are now on opposite sides of the fence on Capita. Lets see if Savage and Aim fight it out, or not. No doubt mid-way through SavageKeyboard's amatuer analysis of Capita's results and his ridiculous and vengeful comments to follow (all about revenue, revenue, revenue...did I mention revenue?!) that Aim will suddenly switch sides, and together with Savage will snap at the heels of all other Capita shareholders! Dick Dastardly and Muttley spring to mind!

I can read Savage and Aim like a book...in fact, the 'Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' comes to mind...very apt indeed.

Sharebel thinks Goldman Sach is a Wood Group institutional investor. In an earlier post I had to let him know that Goldman Sach is a short…and reducing their position/risk. I bet that news broke Sharebel’s heart! Lol

@Targa123 Hardly incompetence. What do you expect management to say? That court talks continue with Sidara… and with investors…and with funders? We have no updates for you, but just wanted to let you know that talks continue. Great RNS…not!

Shorts have started to reduce their positions since the external interim CFO was appointed. Good decision!

To think one year ago today the Wood Group share price was £1.48 to £1.50…

Plenty of upside at current levels.

Wood Group continues with business as usual, hence leak to FT of Wood Group working towards financial stability and security.

Wood Group employees want closure one way or the other.

Shorts not so confident now due to yesterday’s Wood Group share price movements.

Sidara remains best buyer of Wood Group with cash offer for entire business.

Still no interest from any other party.

@Justice2u Look back 5 years to the day, the Wood Group share price was £3.21 per share. That was then, this is now. Fast forward to today, and the share price is currently circa 42-43p. Enough said.

@MaryBr190 Did you do your usual haircut on Wood Group i.e. buy and trim, and repeat. Or did you take a chance and remain long?
