President Donald Trump said he would pause reciprocal tariffs on dozens of non-retaliating countries for 90 days, while raising duties on China to 125%.

“I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately,” Trump posted on social media.

Trump also said he was raising rates on China over its refusal to negotiate.

“Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets, I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately,” Trump said in a social media post on Wednesday.

My question is BeardedDragon: Are you actually alleging that SIDARA is one of the companies you mentioned in your post above? It’s a very simple question BeardedDragon - so what is your answer? YES it includes Sidara; or NO it does not include Sidara.

The Wood situation is similar to selling a house...

Sidara wants to buy John's house for a reasonable cash price, but is concerned about the cracks in the wall and leaking roof - is it normal movement or evidence of subsidence?

Meanwhile John who is self-employed in building/construction/services is not too smart and has a few issues. To start with, John has found out Arvind his bookeeper could talk a good game, but was under-qualified and not fit for purpose...he quit before John could sack him. John has called in Iain who is a temporary bookkeeper to help out for a while while John looks for a new permanent bookkeeper. Although John's home is up for sale and Sidara wants to buy it for cash, John's home loan is up for renewal shortly. As John is not entirely sure if Sidara will buy the house before the renewal is due, John has no other choice but to provide updated accounts to the bank in order to secure a renewal on his home loan. However, John has now realised that actually his previously submitted accounts are in trouble, as John's employee Craig thought over the last few years it would be clever to seriosly inflate profit margins on a number of projects and reflect these in his accounts. On top of this, John's lender has cautiously offered John extra time to catch up on payments and sort out his finances and accounts prior to John's home loan renewal application. Yesterday, John - who now is somewhat frustrated - decided to sack Craig for his poor advice...but he quit before John could sack him. Today is a new day for John, who has decided to supplement his income by working on weekends as a magician who can also juggles many balls in the air at once! Of course, the children will want to see whether or not John can perform his major trick, which is to pull a rabbit out of his magic hat!

@Longfell Wood initially intended to publish its FY2024 accounts by 30 April 2025.

Hence the waiver until then. An extention will be agreed by Wood's lenders (in consultation with Wood), and an RNS will be released to that affect on or before 5pm 30 April.

@Krock, @acccoootttyyyy @YoungEngineer. I would say none of you have any experience at senior executive level nor at board level nor at institutional investor level. It definitely shows.

Sidara talks are side-by-side with Wood talks with lenders. However, Sidara will not be overly concerned with Wood finance arrangements. Also Wood’s institutional investors are far more interested in the Sidara negotiations due to unwanted surprises and concerns over Wood finances, forecasts and draft review. In short, these investors want Wood sold…but not at ‘any’ price. The reason is obvious - right now the sum of Wood’s parts are worth far more than its whole. Hence, Sidara - who want to buy all of Wood for cash -needs to price Wood accordingly.

Wood refinance will be extended and ultimately successful and under commercially favourable terms - the reasons are many.

@YoungEngineer If Sidara offered Wood 40-60p, Wood and its institutional investors would laugh Sidara out the door and rightly so. Keep it real.

@EllllteInv I calculated fair price at 85p to 95p a while back. Then placed a premium for Siadara’s buy from £1.50 to £1 .85 due to synergies and cost savings.

So your £1.47 is at the lower end. However, with the recent events of draft review etc. I think a probable bid back to circa 85p is likely. Any more than this would be a bonus.

I would happily take 85p or £1.50 and any amount in between.

The alternative of no deal made requires patience as Wood climbs out of the deep hole it has dug for itself.

Great RNS. No unexpected surprises. Early signs positive for excellent test results later this month. If tests positive I will add substantially ready for production. Drill baby drill!

Sidara have this nailed now.

Wood inempt financials, poor forecast (positive cash-flow, which turns out to be negative cash-flow) and woeful Deloitte draft review has made Wood look like...to coin another poster's phrase...a right 'Del Boy'.

Watch out for the RNS...by Monday 14 April.
