Cartels are generally illegal so even if BMN or others formed one I don't think we'd hear about it. The US Congress wanted to declare OPEC an illegal cartel but US business interests got in the way. I doubt they'd be so indulgent with vanadium as they are with oil. Not yet, anyway.
How would that affect the stationary battery market? Not ideal if a small amount of V makes lithium batteries more competitive. I don't suppose that it stops them blowing up though.

I don't think they'll announce a loss, I'm just saying that the same rules apply whether the contract is won or lost. Yes, I'm hinting at the Eskom tender, and I have every confidence that it will be a win for Bushveld.
In UK law a closed period on directors'/senior managers' share dealings applies prior to announcement of a big contract win (or loss), not just prior to the announcement of results. So if someone has a tax bill to settle they'd have to sell the shares if such an announcement is coming up. Given they've all been getting their sales in before the end of the week I would say that something significant will be announced early next week. Might be a win, might be a loss, but I know which way I think this is going.
