Since COP9, held in 2003, the UNFCCC has granted 945 badges to fossil fuel representatives who disclosed their corporate affiliations to attend those talks; some delegates, that is, attended multiple years in a row on different badges. Staff from just five companies—ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, BP, and TotalEnergies—have received 267 passes. According to new research published Tuesday by a coalition of climate groups called Kick Big Polluters Out, the real numbers could be far higher. Representatives of trade associations that boost fossil fuel interests—often including fossil fuel industry employees who weren’t required to disclose those affiliations—have been granted 6,581 badges.

I'm scratching my head, wondering who our commercial partner is?
Unrelated to Quadrise of course, but a quick search reveals 2 agreements being inked at COP 28, so its not off the table just yet.

For Jason to say that the tripartite agreement will be signed in December, then a date must be set, Jason has known the results of both the Morocco trial and the Aquafuel tests including the now clear pathway for Net Zero, which already exists, just needs tweaking, all this info is also known by the counterparties, COP 28 would seem the most likely place for the collaboration to take place, what we don't know is if any of our guys are attending.
The information in todays RNS is ground-breaking and if you go back to bashermans excellent post from yesterday you will see how important the Quadrise offering is for all in the shipping industry, there is no other offering that is scalable. Hard to think that there is no disclosure at such a significant event that is being attended by a such crucial audience.

Quadrise is pleased to provide a testing update on its bioMSAR™ fuel testing programme. We aim to provide the marine and industrial sectors with sustainable biofuels that are cheaper, safer, and can reduce harmful emissions.
The tests reported:
✔ bioMSAR™ blends containing Vertoro B.V.'s Crude Sugar Oil reduced CO2 emissions by over 30%, increased engine efficiency by up to 7% and significantly reduced emissions of NOx and CO
✔ New bioMSAR™ formulations containing waste-based methyl esters reduced CO2 emissions by over 45%, increased engine efficiency by up to 7% and also significantly reduced NOx and CO emissions, providing a new pathway to bioMSAR™ Zero
✔ Negligible visible smoke from both bioMSAR™ formulations
COP28 Major #Energy-#Maritime transformation high-level events 👉 coming up.
1. First time ever at a #COP that the #Maritime sector will have a #COPPresidency Roundtable, and it will be focused on:
👉 the decarbonisation pathway ahead.
👉 the #EnergyTransition and role of #shipping.
9th of December in the afternoon
Soren Toft, MSC's CEO, said: “We are proud to be part of this unprecedented collaboration with our peers and it is only right that together we follow this path towards net zero that we must achieve by 2050."
How does net zero by 2024 sound Soren
Significantly higher engine efficiency, excellent carbon footprint, and dramatically lower NOx and soot emissions.
This is the power of crude sugar oil (CSO), exemplified by a second series of successful experiments conducted by Aquafuel Research Limited on a 40kW diesel engine running on bioMSAR blends containing up to 40% of CSO.
Vertoro B.V. can achieve biomass to CSO conversion rates of nearly 80% using a wide variety of EU REDII IX-A compliant feedstocks from sugar cane bagasse to wood saw dust.
Stay tuned as we continue to demonstrate the power of sugars in maritime propulsion with our partner Quadrise Plc.
The Future is Sweet!
A recent joint declaration by major shipping company CEOs at COP 28 called for an end date for fossil-fuel only powered newbuild vessels and urged the IMO to create the regulatory conditions to accelerate the transition to green fuels. This reinforces the importance of our bioMSAR? programme in helping to secure the energy transition as we look to meet the needs of our current and prospective clients.
Quadrise and our commercial partners are excited by these results and we look forward to progressing the testing programme to the next stages, with the intention upon successful testing to offer our first fossil-free bioMSAR Zero? product at commercial scale in advance of 2030."
Maersk get a mention in the RnS, I wonder who our commercial partners are???
About Vertoro
Vertoro is a Maersk Growth-backed producer of sustainable bio-based platforms, notably crude lignin oil (CLO) and crude sugar oil (CSO™), which are extracted from abundant agricultural and forestry residues using their proprietary Goldilocks® technology. CLO is compatible with methanol-powered diesel engines, while CSO™, using Quadrise' proprietary bioMSAR™ technology, is compatible with conventional diesel engines.

I thank the IMO, IRENA, and UNCTAD organizers for sponsoring this event and for inviting me to participate on behalf of MSC Group on Saturday in Dubai. I think it promises to be a very relevant and timely session that is focused on the
revised IMO Strategy agreed in July at MEPC.
The 2023 IMO GHG strategy, defining the global level playing field for shipping decarbonisation.

Thanks for the info gribbler.
The name that I was referring to that Jason has given the net zero product was the one that he mentioned a few dozen times at the AGM and the recent video.
Ultra Magnificent MSAR. U.M.M for short. Not long to wait for news now
Net-zero fuels already exist, but due to cost and availability, these are currently not feasible for adoption at scale.
Quadrise is developing a commercially-competitive net-zero fuel, ‘bioMSAR Zero’, to be ready for launch by latest 2030. This also involves the replacement of the hydrocarbon element of our fuels with a zero-carbon or even a carbon-negative substitute.
Progress is already being made in this regard through our development of bioMSAR™ using various waste biofuels.
BioMSAR Zero has the potential to disrupt the marine and industrial biofuel markets with a scalable, clean, stable, safe and cost effective net-zero ‘B100’ biofuel.
This last statement would suggest that we are allot closer to net Zero than the board are letting on, they have even given it a name. Update this morning would be nice or maybe Monday after Budd has had his word on it,
Biofuel supply is set to come under strain as more industries, not least aviation, compete over the available product. While biofuel blends have been a convenient drop in alternative for shipping so far, some international discussion will need to focus on how alternative, sustainable feedstock can be provided, so that shipping can remain an off taker of the biofuels that re not suitable for the road and aviation sectors.
Pretty much the words that Jason used to to describe what Quadrise offers, didn't he say at the AGM that Quadrise were the only company at present that have the technology to use the sustainably available feedstock and turn it into shipping fuel, Roll on the Aquafuel / Vertoro results.
