Good point Inanaco the potential crossover between the Tissue Soecificity and LDs team.
Of the original 7 Challenges in 2015/16 4 awards of £20m each covering 3 of the Challenges.
The only 2 Challenges that survived onto the 8 Challenges cited in 2017 with a little change in perspective are Cancer Vaccines and the Lethal vs Non Lethal Cancers.
So presumably to be listed twice they must be considered to be a particular challenge and there’s is no particular project out of 10 shortlisted for the Lethal vs non lethal but of course the Personalised Vax team led by Lindy is of course on the list.
You can look further and say that in 2 cases there are 2 entries trying to answer one specific challenge-Tissue specificity and Cancer Causes.
As I said at the start I was not trying to judge on the merits of LDs team but purely on the relative importance and suitability of their area of interest in the context of what may be seen by the panel as the priority Challenges.
Yes we know ultimately the panel will decide on the merits of each case but I also think it is helpful one to be the only entry doing work in a specific area which we know is of great importance to CRUK panel
There will be obvious crossover between several of the entries but again complementary work will be in our favour.

One of things I will do when I have time is look through the I think list of Challenges originally which form the Grand Challenge.I recall there were 5 or 7 and that Develooment of a Cancer Vaccine was one of them or maybe more specifically an Appriach to Personalised Vax.
Now this is of top of my head so please forgive if every bit is not accurate but sure you will get my general drift.
Then I will look to see which approaches have been successful in past like in 2017.
Now I know that each Application will be fully judged on its own merits BUT if most of the other specific Challenges have already received backing ie great money then I guess it must increase the odds of LDs team( which is also a fantastic team with great science) doing well.

Just not sure if anyone has akteady done this in their heads and welcome any comments

ZM will have made mistake imo IF the flow rates at the earlier 2 wells have dramatically dropped off as any positive announcement like the last one on T 39 ( then news of UD2) will be judged by the market in the same way.
So I am expecting the EWT will be positive and that will be the real turning point in sentiment not just because it is good news but ZM will have regained a lot of trust

Yes we are all unhappy with SP and god progress does seem to be made on the ground.
Like Zib understand being long way underwater brings out strong emotions and becomes a roller coaster ride.
Don’t understand why genuine folk underwater take their frustration out by posting negative comments here but do understand the frustration.
Likes of Coggy put it all in perspective for me but he ratains sense of black humour so likes of him I want this to do well for.
Market generally not good ATM but happy to stay here until end of year/ flow rates from other 2 wells are released and as lng as progress continues then fine but ZM needs to be open but still he is aligned with SH and that has always been turning point for me here

People seem to forget that it is a team put together by LD both to validate and evaluate the progress if the science and will not invkce any disputes over the current IP.status of any of the holders.
Sure they won’t set up a new Conpany As CRUK will remain in control of spending however the exposure and involvement if influential big players wil mean that anything of interest within the SCLP franchise will be made aware to a wider circle of interest.

As CH said in his reply it is a consortium and they have costed lots of separate bits out in plan.
But some will provide services in kind and different organisations cost their time and effort differently.
Presume also part of provision will be to alter resource alllocation or possibly provide more based on how the science develops.
They can’t know at this stage exactly where the best allocation of resources will be made and may alter based on future activity imo

Totally agree re CH response and most of your other comments.
If SCLP wins it will be hugely beneficial re validation and finance re developing the science.Think we all agree on that so should be a big positive but because of certain egos and the need to be proved righ it almost always seems to degenerate into a meaningless discussion of the minutiae and often irrelevant points of debate.

Devex-have spoken to Jo a number of times now and found him both supportive and straightforward.Spoke to him yesterday and know a number of others have contacted him.
I was advised to contact FRR which I did Re my concerns and copied in YJ etc and I got a standard response from them.
Think many people misunderstand the role of the Nomad and as you say they are advisors of what can or cannot be said rather than there to advise the Company on frequency or depth of communication.
I simply contact him if I am unsure about particular points and have always found him helpful but no he can’t actually tell you anything material.

The Nomad may well have been unhappy over specific comments but I have had 2 conversations with him now and certainly no wish to cut down on communications in fact quite the opposite in terms of encouraging FRR to release updates on ongoing operations.
It is their job to advise what can and cannot be said rather than how often it should be said but my feeling is that they would like the Company to update the market more regularly but at the end of the day that is in the gift of FRR

SP dropped below recent placing price so hopefully get some news soon.
Anything that gives us something else to debate will be welcome imo as pointless argument over what I consider minor points of Accountancy practice at best and total unwillingness to concede to any other view than their own at worst simply clogs up the board and any nuggets remain hidden.

Fair point Boom and HW it will not be SCLPs money but the teams to advance the scienc.
Obviously being one of the Winners if the Grand Challenge-let us remember there are likely to be several awards will be a huge endorsement of the Team LD has put together and that will massively advance the progress of SCLP but let us separate both the direct monetary impact and the guaranteed chance of winning that some think is a given.
I am very confident in the prospects of SCLP doing well but let us let the impartial judges base their decision on the strict merits of each case and simply wait rather than speculate about the outcome

Morning.Think we can safely assume that any major iquidity event possibly linked to SCLP will not be the Grand Challenge but some other monetisation.
No reputable Company would base a possible event outcome on something as uncertain on winning a Challenge 4 mo the before decisions are due however confident it was of winning

Few comments.
1.Pretty certain that BOD are not selling any of their shares.
2.Have made the point that the “ delayed” news on UD2 has not been well received and is effecting SH sentiment and tarnished a lot of the very positive news in last RNS.
3.There is a big need for FRR to release some news on flow rates on the first 2 wells or at least inform is that the EWT is achieving anticipated results or not.
I have spoken to the Nomad again today and sent an e mail to him/FRR and YJ informing them of my wish for an update on the 2 wells.
A few others have done this and suggest anyone else concerned does the same.
Like others I am prepared for the possibility of unexpected results but not releasing any information and a drifting SP is not something I will tolerate indefinitely.

FYI there is proposed legislation going through US to help support the development of new ABs.Ths could be very important here.

We have a novel A/B which is safe and effective and a low propensity to develop resistance.
This is important Re product positioningin that Iclaprim will not in the main be used as a drug of last resort to overcome resistant bugs which limits its use but it is a novel AB which can be used in renal impaired patients but also has a reduced risk of developing resistance which is very important for stewRdship.
Interesting Re combinations of treatments which may widen sales potential say if combined with Suplhonamides

Good posts over the w/end and yes there is plenty of potential positive news to overcome the UD2 result which I agree still keeps the door open for someone else to develop.
But after all the transformation of the improved communications recently I agree with StarRage about the importance of releasing some news on flow rates of other 2 wells to restore sentiment amongst some investors me included
