Acores,
Leo lithium are due to be paid the second and final tranche from the sale of goulamima on 30/6. Investors fear this maybe delayed due to Mali not yet allowing gangfeng to export product. We'll find out next week.
Will KOD be a success? In my view we need spod to rise to a level Mali are comfortable to sell at, it's not under $900 a tonne imo and could be as high as $1k. Information about this is being withheld so we may never truly know.
Will spod rise? In my view yes and this side of Christmas but only when we start to see reports of the surplus having been depleted, at that point the Chinese lose control of the pricing environment and the price will rise quickly.
If Goldman Sachs are to be believed then KOD are in big trouble.
I don't believe Goldman Sachs view that spod price will remain subdued during 2026.
It's all down to spod price in my view, KOD need it to hit the minimum sale price in order for Mali to allow export and judging by this year's spod price and goulamima too not allowed to export, I concluded that the minimum sale price is well above $800 a tonne.
I completely agree, it's not gone to plan and we are now on a sticky wicket. There are two posters who'll label me a troll again but those fellas are posting misleading information and are not to be trusted in my view.
