I am presently involved in the sale of Family silver to pay 4 the old Ladies care.........in a month I have seen the price firm from 10p to about 12.5p so there is something effecting things at the mo.. Dunno if you read Shares mags but the silver article was my source P48 ack Adrian Nash says CFTC weekly commitment of traders surged $5.4 billion in June alone compared against a futures and options market worth an average $16 billion total over the last decade So put another way value of bull minus bear positions taken out in June alone was $5.4 billion. Checking out the graph the only valid conclusion we can draw is that it is de facto high volatility.........and doesn't necessarily point to direction of price. AIMHO

Last week I read there was a massive day for Ag Futures............in one day a volume of futures sold which was 25% of the total volume sold in the last 10 years. I have heard that this was triggered by the listing of a court case against two major banks accusing them of rigging the spot price of silver............

Well Ft has summut to say on this today as well. Where has all the gold gone ? All those expensive vaults built over the last 20 years to house investment gold have been emptied as investors have sold down gold stocks during the last year........Where has it gone for goodness sake. There are many countries and banks and other commercial organizations disapproved of by the US and barred by the Fed that are not allowed to use the dollar to trade in: convenient as it is ( transactions take milliseconds ). Initially they used gold but transactions took weeks as gold was shifted around. Now however there are increasing centralized stocks that can be used to back trades and all that happens is a change of name applied to ownership. Of course China got big at this in Cu in trades inside China as they couldn't trust each other. But now everybody is at it and they are increasingly using gold. Just like using a bank account denominated in gold. Not just in big bricks of gold but tons of it converted from big central bank bricks to small tinny bricks held by the man in the rickshaw or the man boiling noodles. Ah !!! I hear you sigh ......that's where all the gold has gone. Remember how America did it .........The Fed introduced the Gold Standard promising to buy every ounce of gold for $40 dollars and making it illegal to own gold privately in American. That nipped demand in the USA. The Fed probably cant stop demand in China or India or anywhere else for that matter. Its all about trust and post Pax Brittanica and the passing of the '' Old Queen '' no one trusts anyone now.

Quotes suggestions QE (low interest rates) supresses market discipline wit potentially catastrophic consequences. Others think that higher interest rates will result in inflation, destruction of dollar and will halt US recovery. Who is right ? Well we have QE and low interest rates and havnt suffered yet........but as recovery continues banks may release more money and Companies may shed cash from balance sheets and this flood of cash into the economy may be aggravated by wage demands as workers tire of austerity........could this give rise to a wage led inflationary cycle fuelled by banks and Companies throwing of cash chasing profit ? We have already seen what happens when QE is withdrawn and interest rates are lifted. Money is withdrawn from emerging markets. In response they lift their currency interest rates to try to head off the flight of capital as it returns to higher returns to safer more stable and predictable conditions in the developed economies. Old economies respond by edging up interest rates again and workers then demand redress by ever bigger wage demands and inflation becomes established...... This kind of thing was nipped in the bud in Sept when the threatened withdrawal of QE was moderated and put of until December.........but we saw the markets capacity and flavour of their response. So predictions of the future......very much your predictions Mogo if I read you correctly

An interesting thought for me is I am probably now tracking a rising sp long term now having ridden a declining sp for bl00dy years..........I feel I am in for some reward now.

IMHO At 180p I will have a nibble .......your chunky bites are enviable..........I am trying the Zn play as well, and thinking of going for recovery plays like Wincanton (maybe to slow), Fenner, Blinx (dodgy) , Moni etc.......... Fascinated by the yummy grades at depth in SMC and by the end of the year I wouldn't be surprised to hear we have an ore reserve for the new shallow section and a mining plan and a program to go and get the ore. That might put the ore reserve at 6m oz plus of high grade very mineable ore......WOW that T/O territory when we are mining at profit and paying Divi ! I have been involved in opening up several shallow ore bodies from surface using steep dip inclines fitted out for skips and winding engine and working as trackless low dip inclines ( very quick and easy and cheap )............the latter probably our approach at KGI cos the ore body dip and width seem right It can be done really quickly so once we get going ore will be finding its way to crusher in double quick time and costs will have further down pressure, and tonnage will fill the extraction mills. So not only are we getting the new economics of the new mining plan but we are headed to a divi........and opening up a new highly profitable easy to mine section. wrt the Kondratieff cycle gold is currently in up trend and likely to continue increasing in price for next 15 to 20 years. But we see it thru the fog created by QE and the devil may care sell down of sovereign Gold. Price of gold in 2030...........I am saying $5,000 oz minimum. My last 2 posts AIMHO and emanating from those fancy smokes I picked up this afternoon.

Hi Driver...... You know me to be an unreconstructed '' Gold Bug '' !! Really intrigued to see an IC article this week P55 Taking Stock.....not specifically about gold but gives a perspective on the Kondratieff Cycle ( 50 year cycle ) which describes and represents the progress and relationship between depression, recession and inflation over a cycle which typically runs for 50 years.. Our interest in gold of course is because it is used as a store of value as we try to nullify the effects of depression, recession, and inflation on our savings and income. My personal take on it is 1980 was the high point of the last Gold cycle ( stagflationary top in 1974 )............so 2030 will be the high point of the next with stagflationary top in 2024. Gold began to firm up about 18 years before 1980.......ie 1962. So this time round price of gold starts to firm 2012. Now we need to think about that.......I am sure we are in the period of time when the Au price is on the climb. To explain the fact that Au has been climbing for the last 10 years it doesn't seem unreasonable to recognize that the gold price has been recovering from the interference of central banks trying to discredit gold by selling down official holdings...........like pushing a block of wood under water, if you then take your finger of the wood it will pop back up. So central bank shinanigins of last 20 years and the fact that the cycle may not be exactly 50 years need to be included in our thoughts . Heavy interview on China on BBC Radio 4 early morning. Chinese banking in worst mess than our 2008/9 fiasco........chickend on their way home to roost ?? stuff etc they said ? Our debt is worst now of course than 2009 as is the rest of Europe........only the Germans doing better. !! ?? But the real unknown is India.......if they can put their Civil Service back into its cage it has the potential to take Chinas place leading world growth ?? Nothing is certain except ...........................................G.O.L.D C'mon folks argue with me !!

On the surface he appears gentle thoughtful and full of social skills you would expect from a prolonged education and Mining experience ............but underneath I think he is a right hairy back. He has certainly moved very quick here. Get a good bit of ground and back the man.

Just done a re-read..........Goodness that deep levels are rich and lots of tonnage available. Wonder what rock temp is down there......... I see miners starting to appear quite often on the leaders board.........China trundling along nicely and if India get their act together then it will look very good for resource stocks.......specially since so much has been chopped out of expo

........we have another £150M in the treasury........... Yeh cos o'C will just view it as his personal largesse to be spent with friends and associates on poor grade projects they have dreamt up to keep their inflated AIM salaries going ..........IMHO obviously !! He may find it less straight forward with the board changes but we still don't know the board wont just go along with his agenda. We wait to see independence and progress without much hope as yet. Certainly should be shown the door........without hand shake. AT has been squandered .........not to mention the date for production being moved once again to 2018. Started of as 2015.........AT has been drawn down to finance and support very poor prospects in their '' friends '' ? Companies........Stirling, Melrose, and Hess.............and we remain still with only one bit of success which we had a decade ago. By the time revenue flows from AT there will be little left for distribution.........it will have to pay for debt and low geared capital expenditure on unremarkable prospecting and high risk production........IMHO That it was their intention to go for a main board listing I believe can be viewed with some scepticism. It was IMHO hype that was intended as window dressing for shareholders pacification. Lets be honest the agreements which have just been nullified would have possibly made it impossible to gain main board listing........IMHO. Don't expect anything from Kurdy we have had our best shot there.......all that rubbish about oil oozing out of our ground again is just BS. for shareholders mollification.

.............knows what they are doing here 140M buys to 60M sells and the price has moved very little from opening bell. ( comparatively speaking) That means MM are well ahead of the market curve and they really really know who their buyers are and what price they will be setting and when. IMHO this means they have lines of stock to call on and can sell them back when needs be.........no other way to work it That takes team work and real savvy.............seing this on AIM is quite comforting............other stocks and other MMs would have completely lost it and we woulf be trading at 50p already ( old money ) We are in the hand of some puckka chaps here If you are into volume.........Helloo oo !! I have 8K to make up here.......but on my volumes I guess thats ouch but in sight of repair now with all the cheepos I have added. In fact we would,; but for a spot of luck having big boys Dad involved,; all be down the tube, down the swanny, toes up in boot hill by now. Instead we are living with big losses but '' in hope '' Thats LUCK What a business
