The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
But it is not coming out of the ground and not generating any revenue yet. Regardless of what happens to the price of palladium we all have to take a patient and long term view for however long it takes for those reserves to converted to stock and then into costs of sales.
Hi smiller
I did refer to 5% net, not gross. As to £1k looking for a return of 5% net being "terrible" none of us are wearing others shoes. Some people enjoy day trading.
Years ago there was a documentary about J P McManus the racehorse owner. He started on the path to a fortune when his father asked him to slip a piece of drugged meat to the favourite in a greyhound race and back the outsider. J P didn't give the meat to the favourite, backed it, collected and ran away from home. His gambling strategy was to settle for a 5% or 10% return in a day which he knew he could never equal with a bank. Once he made that he would walk away from the bookies. Or, if he had lost realising the dangers of good money chasing bad he would also walk away. Look where he is now. A major player in the Coolmore operation, multiple racehorses run under national hunt rules in his own colours and various other business interests.
As I said earlier it is all down to individual risk to profit/loss individuals want to take.
As always, good to talk.

Hi smiller
It is all relative. Some may be happy with a net profit of 5% on a £1,000 punt, I use that word deliberately because all of whatever our goals are "punters", and that may be a risk to profit ratio they are happy with. They might just be setting out on this great adventure called AIM and be building a portfolio. Others maybe happy with a 5% gain on a £100,000 punt. Again, that would be a position within their risk to profit ratio they are happy with. We are all different, thanks goodness, and it is those difference sthat helps a market function.

Hi dickie
That's a bit strong saying those taking a 5% profit are "weak" in my opinion anyway. We all have our individual investment strategies. Some are sitting here waiting for the multibag to happen while others are content to actualize small gains having set their limits. Strength actually comes from setting a strategy and sticking to it.

I sincerely hope this news is true and if it is then it will put a whole new perspective on this tragic situation. Remember that Putin, in my view, is a man who has painted himself into a corner and like a caged animal will lash out any way he can regardless of the cost or the irrationality of his actions. Or, and this is where I am ever so slightly hopeful, this may signal a sea change in this conflict and bring about an end sooner than any of us had thought possible before this news came about a couple of days ago.
Let's not get too excited or hopeful just yet until this news is further confirmed from multiple sources.

Hi naphthaman
That is a really cheap shot at Bill Brodie Good and whatever your opinion of him I think you should post some sort of unconditional apology on this bulletin board and even consider withdrawing or deleting your comment. This is a bulletin board for the shared interests of investors and not a platform for ****ging off people who cannot answer back.
All the best

Hi Cela24
As with the other responder to your post , when do those options expire and how will they make the brakes come off the price of silver?
I have been following the commentaries on silver for about a year now and there has been this repeated mantra that the market is heading for a crunch as contracts expire causing the price to rocket.
Thanks

Hi sharequests
I had my booster about a month ago and as with the second jab I count myself very lucky in that I did not have any side effects. It was the first jab that knocked me sideways for about 12 hours but after that back to full chat and ongoing frustration with our shre price here.

Hi tacet
A Michael Caine moment for a very cold Saturday afternoon
The only information I can find that measures the level of democracy in different countries is the Economist Intelligence Unit democracy index of 167 countries. Australia, regarded as a full democracy, is in 9th place sharing the top ten places with countries such as Norway and Finland but not Britain which is in 16th place, pre Downing Street party era. Other countries that would be approaching the fascist category would be Turkmenistan in 162nd, Russia 124th and Libya 157th. They are not referred to as "fascist" but as "authoritarian". A further measure of democracy is from the Reporters Without Borders Foundation which generates a press freedom index of 165 countries. Australia is in 25th place in this index compared to Britain's 33rd place.
"Not a lot of people know that".
As for the NWO and the influence of BIG PHARMA not sure what to say about that but hopefully Australia for the sake of us UFO shareholders will be part of a new world order influenced by companies mining for minerals.
Have a good weekend everyone and light a candle for more positive news in the coming days from down under.

Good morning
Really?
So it is OK for a visitor, in whatever capacity or status, to visit another country and not respect that country's norms? In this case those imposed in the fight against Covid however much they may disagree with them. Quite rightly and proof that Australia is a democracy that visitor was able to appeal against any decision made by an agency of the Government of that country through the courts. In this case they won on a technicality thus upholding the separation of powers between the judiciary, the government and whatever of their agencies made the decision in the first instance however unpopular that decision may appear in the eyes of the citizens of the country. However, following that judicial decision it has now come to light that the visa application was not completed correctly, regardless of who completed it; the individual or any member of his support team. I am not a legal person but surely that must count as presenting false evidence to court be it accidental or intentional. A further count against the person is that when they were elsewhere in the world and had tested positive they then broke the covid protocols.
Would you be happy for a visitor to your country, whatever their status, being stopped from entry at the border, being detained in a detention centre, going through the judicial system and successfully reversing the detention order then, subsequently it being found that their visa application was completed incorrectly by their support team and finally, that evidence came to light they had not followed the protocols in their own country despite knowing they had tested positive?
Have a good Friday everyone.

I have questioned the use of PR before which I am not against when used in the right scenarios such as damage limitation for a company providing bad products or services. PR in the Sareum scenario does not increase sales revenue, EBITDA and shareholder value on the balance sheet. So why divert funds and management resources into this cost when those resources could be better employed progressing the product development to licensing and production? The use of PR may give a caffeine type hit to the share price in the short term but it is what happens in the long term that will decide the share value.
Well said AndytheMKD. We have to sit here like Delboy playing poker against Boysie. Boysie declares four of a kind (Kings) and Delboy calls two pairs. That is two pairs of aces. The MM's will play their games with this share and its short term pricing but in the end underlying value in terms of revenue generated will win through.
