I'm not bitter, but more dumbfounded, because it makes no sense. Someone, somewhere, has come up with this idea. Okay. It may save 24 minutes per day in December. But that's about it. You, as a shareholder, should be thinking why?

But it does affect you. The share price? Dividends? The very things that you bought into IDS for, are now being stripped away from you, by the people you employ to run the company.

Do you know how much managers got in bonuses last month? Bonuses for what?

You berate the very people who try to keep this company on it's feet, the real workers, but laud the people who would appear to want to bring it to it's knees.

Seasonal variation. Do you actually understand it? It's in place to mitigate the uplift in traffic. The only thing that has happened this week is............ nothing. If my working week gets any more relaxed, i'll be falling asleep on the job. And they have to give me the time back. Pathetic idea, from people who do not understand the job. But get paid a lot of money to come up with nonsense. In my opinion, of course.

No comment on the below then? Are 60 new roles justified after spending millions paying off managers and then recruiting them again? And possibly again.

Word reaches me that RM are recruiting again.

But not where you'd think they'd need it. 20 senior management roles are being advertised and 40 managerial support roles in operations. Didn't RM pay out thousands in VR to managers a year ago, then re-hire them on 9 month contracts, to help out? Absolutely shocking. Is it any wonder the company claim to be in financial trouble, when all they do is throw money at the white collar brigade. Old and new.

RM Losses through seasonal variation, IN MY OFFICE.

Circa 60 staff = 110 hours of lost working time. At say 12 quid an hour = £1,320 lost. Multiply by 1,000 delivery offices over the country???

And this is week one. How are RM going to get this back? I'll give you a weekly update, if i'm not too tired. This 24 minutes is killing me!!! LOLOL.

I noticed this little gem from you, posted yesterday morning. I don't recall ever saying "it won't happen to me". I do recall saying that if the changes that happen don't suit my lifestyle, then i'll leave. By all the recommendations from your followers for this post, it is clear that everyone took it for the BS it was. Creative posting once again. Trying to garner favour, is a sure sign of desperation.

If you think that starting work 24 minutes earlier affects my life, you're more deluded than i'd imagined. But if it makes you happy to think that, carry on.

More concerning for me is the lack of work that should be generated by this extra 24 minutes. NIL!!!!

I got back to the office early, along with the majority of my colleagues. And then what? Nothing. I was basically saying to my managers, "Please sir, can i have some more?" Let's not forget the staff who had already gone home. Yep. Another fantastic idea from the white collar workers who run the business.

I would say that it's two hours out of my life that i'll never get back, but i will. Next summer, if i'm still there.

And it has not affected my life at all. That's for the antagonistic on this board.

More concerning for me is annual leave.

I have no A/L post september, until post crimbo.

I will, however, be booking 6 weeks A/L in the light summer period.

So for the "heavy" periods i'll be working 39 hours per week. But in the lighter periods i'll be on leave. I should be working 35 hours per week then, to claw back my extended "heavy" period weeks.

So, i'll be working 39 hours per week for 16 weeks, but only able to claw back 10 weeks worth. Therefore RM are in debt to me for 12 hours.

This is of course assuming that RM, as they said, would not adjust any weekly hours. Oddly enough, the people who do regular overtime, the managers favourites, would be the biggest losers., financially. But the biggest gainers, time wise.

What an absolute shi*t show, for something that is so easily managed. Give these people an even bigger bonus, for failure.

Yeah. I've seen the posts. Oddly enough, there is a truth associated with it. Unless my contract changes, and i have had no notification of this, why should i work longer days at the behest of RM? This could open up a whole new can of worms. I did not agree to any changes, so why should i be held to account.

Me and several of my workmates, thought this would have been called off by now. It's certainly going to be fun going into September.

All in all, i would suggest that if there is a court case, this will lead to RM paying staff through their pda's. I know this happens in a lot of offices, but it is not a national thing. That really would put the cat amongst the pigeons! Maybe this is what RM wants?

My friends in the MC do not know of any impending changes regarding getting the mail out "24 minutes" earlier. So that stays the same.

You mention SISO and PSP. SISO can be populated with any data you want. If someone gets paid three hours overtime, their finishing time should go up by three hours, and their finishing scans should reflect this overtime. You can work out whether or not this happens. By the same token, if someone was to finish early, very early, then SISO can be amended to reflect this, so the "scan out" time is the same as SISO. However, the time in PSP remains the same, as if it didn't then that would be a reduction in hours. This would have to be shown in RCS (balance of hours). Another programme that is flexible, shall we say.

Yep. Those ones. As opposed to the ones who were bribed not to go sick. You know, given bonuses. The ones on 48K per year.

Yep. The managers who were there for 4 hours a day. Some went out and delivered 40 parcels. Outstanding performance.

Regarding Daventry. A senior manager friend of over 30 years told me Daventry was failing. No doubt the managers associated with this will get a bonus.

Never mind. Seasonal variations and DPR's are soon to come. The saviour of all things Royal Mail. I cannot wait. I have a start time and finish time. I'm still not sure that RM realise that.

Yes, your posting is more frequent than mine. But then again, it always has been.

I post when i think there is something worth sharing. In this case the new found wealth of RM and sharing it with the managers. Not shareholders or the real workers.

Can you elaborate on the work done by these managers? Or can anyone?

Can you also respond to The Gold Group, Amazon, Daventry suggestions?

I hear The Gold Group have moved to another courier. A big customer. What do you make of that? Amazon are apparently using us more. How much per item do you think they are paying?

Let's not forget Daventry. I hear that it's a total disaster, at the moment. Not teething problems either. How much is this costing RM? The daily failures associated with Daventry are absolutely shocking, i understand.

And can you tell me what hard work the managers do? You don't work in the business, so i'm all ears!

I have only pointed out that all managers have received a bonus. And by that rationale, the company must be doing well.

The short term incentive plan has nothing to do with this, IMO.

You say it's a gesture from the business? What about the gesture (1k - 1.5k?) for attending work last year during IA, between September and early November (i think)? Didn't that cover the managers hardships?

Or the vouchers dished out?

As i've said, it's for information purposes only. I would have thought that non-employees of RM, who may or may not be privy to this news, would have been pleased? It must show that in the past three months that RM have turned a corner.

Why else would they pay out bonuses?

Nothing has happened within the company that was worth posting about. IMO. If you think that's odd, that's your prerogative. I ain't being funny, but you posted hundreds of times a day under your previous aliases.

Not concerned about the share price. I merely highlighted how well the company must be doing if they are paying bonuses to managers. Something that you clearly take umbrage with.

Maybe at the very lower end, as it varies from COM to COM.

But from what i hear it's considerably more for most.

Still. At least it shows the company is making money. I cannot wait for my share of the profits. Although, i have a feeling i'll be waiting a long time.
