i) I think you'll find that the majority of employees actually agree with "tightening up" on sick leave. It's not a major concern for the majority, but until it kicks in, and it's meant to be October, then i wouldn't hold my breath. I've already heard from a white collar friend that this is not happening, yet. A positive if it should happen.
ii) Agency staff employed from Monday - Saturday have all gone in my area. Although still employed for Sundays. A colossal saving. Unfortunately, for the customer, and recipient, this will lead to a bigger failure than what we see now. Parcels as well as letters. A positive for RM financially, unless you are now waiting for an item to be delivered. Be it a parcel or letter. Not good for future business though. Negative.
iii) I'm still not sure how this is meant to be making "savings". But if RM & PI says it is, then it must be so. Seasonal variation isn't worth the paper it's written on. Pathetic. But that's just my opinion.
iv) I understand that any surplus staff after "restructuring in MC's" are to be offered delivery jobs in delivery offices. This may be for the proposed DPR's, although i cannot be certain. The DPR's have been shelved in my area at the moment. Apart from 2 offices where it's failing abysmally. Definitely a negative.
v) The majority of CSP's are down to the bare minimum. If they close down completely, you will have nobody to do all the extra work that id associated with these jobs. Unless the managers pick up the slack. But then that will mean they may have to work their time. Negative.
I see your infatuation with Simon continues. Each to their own. If his type floats your boat, good luck.
Just to end this sermon: In my area, i am led to believe that there will be no more DPR's for the foreseeable future. The very thing that RM want, cannot be implemented. But i do not know why.
Good luck with your dividends!
