The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
This could be looked at in another way.
Let’s say you’ve been luck enough to invest big in GGP and made a goodly sum on paper which you subsequently decide to cash in (Havieron sold to NCM or whoever ). You then have a pile of cash to invest elsewhere - you are a gambler (explorer) so you choose a basket of promising AIM companies (in this analogy Scally, BH, PRE etc). If one ore more of your choices hits it big you are quids in, but this is AIM (exploration) and it’s a big gamble - you might come away with nothing and all that money you made from GGP/HAV is GONE!!
Don’t know if the above makes sense to anyone but me, but I guess what I’m trying to say is that I agree with the @why sell the golden goose” analogy!!
Iceberg, I googled NM salary from SOLG (just one of his many companies) and it looks like about $3.4 million!
Gervaise Heddle on the other hand was paid $342k by GGP (his only company as far as I am aware)!
Apples and Oranges matey - oh, and I am invested in both so I really don’t want to get into an argument over it.
Have a great weekend!
As I said Taverham, I have no intention of slicing anytime soon - still firmly on the GGP train!
My long term plan is a dividend paying portfolio of blue chip stocks as a large portion of my pension so was interested to hear others view on suitable divi payers!
Hi DGR, this is my plan also although I am not intending to slice anytime soon! I would be interested to know the divi shares you like to see how they compare with my own thoughts if you feel like sharing?
Apologies to all for the OT, but I think it's relevant as many of us are looking at significant profit's down the line and would welcome input on ideas for reinvestment!
Hydro apparently posted something about it on the Telegram site, but then deleted as he didn’t want it spread across Twitter contaminating his source - was deleted before I saw it so no idea what it was!
I'm not sure mate, but I use the "Fund this Account" option on my home page within Lloyds Bank Direct investments and the funds show up as available to use almost instantly (as long as there are sufficient funds in the current account). I think I may have linked my current account debit card to the share dealing account when I opened it and this is how the transfer is facilitated?
I'm guessing you have your share dealing account set up as a "recipient" within your current account and initiate the transfer from there?
