The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Best to change the header and nip that in the bud!
Anyone else notice how the green muppet has jumped on the placing band wagon suddenly - his previous poor efforts never mentioned one at all!!
It’s all just noise - filter em or laugh at em!!
IMO - have a great weekend all!!
Davie, I said that but with respect mate, that’s what risk/reward is all about! The ONLY reason we are where we are right now is because of the NCM JV - they got in early when we really needed them and yes, we might have got here eventually on our own, but I can guarantee there would have been a heck of a lot of placing to raise the funds en route!
Going back to risk/reward - that’s why those shareholders that got in early and bought big (read took the most risk just like NCM) are sitting pretty today as opposed to others that have joined more recently!
NCM stumped up a lot of money very early on and are going hammer and tongs to prove up Hav for the reasons many good posters on here have correctly pointed out - they earned (or will have) that 70% of Hav, no doubt in my mind!
Now who should us lowly punters listen to in this ‘debate’?
Beetham aside, Jerry Spaniel is probably the largest PI holder we have - as far as I know that has not changed much so his money ( and interests) are clearly in the positive camp.
I don’t remember Hydro’s exact holding from the poll a few weeks back, but I do remember it was significant. Add to that the amount of research he does (and shares) and it’s clear to see he is also extremely positive.
In the other corner we have the weekend warriors Pedro FB and Dogmess who continually spout negative slants - Pedro is particularly amusing in his late night rants when he’s clearly had one shandy too many!
Make your own mind up, but I know who I’m taking notice of!
GLA
Scottie I think what Paddy is alluding to is that:
1) Scallywag borders Rio Tinto's land
2) Rio are one of the largest copper miners on the planet
3) Scally's copper readings are "off the chart"
4) Rio JV down the line...??????????????
Please don’t do yourself down TMT, my post re Bottles baby was not meant in that vein at all!! Your contributions to this board are educated and significant and you have become one of the posters here whom I respect and take notice of, not only here but on a certain FTSE blue chip also!
ATB
They have indeed TMT - I've been invested there for a long time (unfortunately) and Brombarb has been managing and adding to it forever, although I believe someone else actually started it (a chap named Timmo or similar if I remember right)!
Morning TMT! Good suggestions for what is becoming a fantastic resource - great work BR!!
To answer your last point, a well respected longterm poster named Brombarb on the 88e board has been doing a similar thing for a good while - the 88e Wiki page.
