Because our market works on movement and dilution to keep that movement going . The MMs only make when we buy and sell ( incspread ) so don’t want us to invest and sit still . So people are paid to create un rest and encourage movement . Shorters are lent shares to lower the SP to create movement . It’s not a investors market .
