Shorters are bogey men because they force the SP down for funding which means more shares for the same cash which means dilution which devalues a business every time they raise cash . Shorters have borrowed and pre sold shares ( driving the SP down ) now they need to buy them back to give back ( without altering the number available on giving them back ) as Brokers can lend against our shares . So they lend theoretical shares and the number of shares needs to tally up on any take over . So lots of buying without creating shares to sell . If that makes sense
