Ashton - it looks like the spent just over €200m+ today alone... plus the large volume on Wed gets them the almost additional 2% shareholding to their existing holding.
Be warned, yes on paper it looks like a vote of confidence and it may well drive the SP upwards... but the rest of their shareholding has been acquired quite cheaply in comparison. Whenever they decide to dispose of BIRG and an RNS is released confirming same the SP will mostly take a share decline so hopefully this is not a pump and dump. I'm not saying that this is the case this time, just highlighting that Blackrock are ruthless. Anyone who has been trading for a long time can confirm this for you... everyone is fair game and collateral damage when they make a big move.
Hopefully for everyone here it proves to be a vote of confidence and takes this up a leg or two.
Yeah, a couple of heavy hitters today alright. Two €12m trades and a few others of note which did us no harm re the SP.
It sounds a lot like a legal method of price fixing a security should an institution not like where the open market would otherwise bring a share price too. As long as your agreed partner keeps to within the legal parameters and it was declared in advance. Not the 1st time I've seen similar notices in BIRG... im sure it's there for a reason and helps stop big institutions manipulating the share price to their advantage (to a certain degree). I can't recall ever hearing when and to what degree the mechanism was ever used, only the pre and post stabilisation notices via their RNS notifications.
Below is a very nice website for info on P/E ratios, earnings, past performance and analyst's predictions for future dividends etc. Might be of help to some members here for quick references etc.

Another member with 2 accounts - Observe1 and Observe2, Enough said!
Observe1 - I seem to have struck a nerve with you...
You clearly don't like being called out regarding your consistent bad advice while pushing the same agenda telling everyone to SELL SELL SELL here. You (like everyone else including myself) have no idea where the peak of this share is so why are you telling everyone to sell? Ha ha, there is no whining on my part at all, I'm simply highlighting that you are constantly giving bad advice here. It's not up to you to tell people to buy or sell and your comments are clearly worthless.
Regarding your comment on paying for advice, I do in fact pay for professional advise... and a lot of the time they no just as little as you as far as where this one is going.
The moral of the story is sell your shares if you want to and wish people well on their investment when you depart but stop telling people to sell (or buy for that matter). It's 7.64 as I type and you said yesterday people should sell above 7.50 so I guess you will be out today so best of luck to you in your future investments. Bye bye...
@observe1 have you read back on your own posts recently?
"€6 is close to a top in 2022, maybe €6.50 at a huge push. Safe to sell inside of this range and look to redeploy elsewhere in due course. This share is a dog as they say and with management and the politicians against it don't hold your breath!!!"

6.60 sell, sell sell. Drop 50% of your portfolio at these levels.
On August 3rd you said it would struggle to see €6 for the remainder of the year..... Sell Sell Sell!!
Yet your still here and still trying to encourage other share holders to sell...
Observe1 - We hit 7.53 a couple of times today. Have you now closed your position in BIRG as per your advice to other shareholders?
CW1966 - if you disagree with RRINVESTOR that is fine but this personal crusade you are on to prove your point is very tiring and irritating to other members who are scrolling through messages for useful info. You don't need to comment on every post he/she makes and spam the board with similar messages constantly!
as it touches 7.71... a bit of a rollercoaster today...
Im not convinced its news around the ECB rate change as I would have thought if the rate rise was .25 less than expected it would have had more of an impact on European banks today.
€35m trade yesterday and a €45m trade today... interesting...
Silverhorse - You know even less about the geopolitical situation in the Ukraine than you do about trading shares. That's an accomplishment in itself!!
@awfulman
Actually it's one of the more profitable deals the irish government has every made...
It was very profitable at the initial selling at 4.96 and again at 5.64 not to mention the recent sales at €7+. I'm not one for singing the government's praises but they got this one right considering the external factors such as brexit and covid etc along the way. I doubt anyone here who bought at similar prices to the government will be holding out for double digit euros per share.

Here is the relevant info...
"The BoI said it expected €435mn in additional net interest income if rates rise by 1 percentage point, while AIB has pointed to a €369mn uplift, based on their forecasting models."
@ cooking
The FT had an article recently with some info regarding that... I remembered it as roughly just over €100m additional net income for each quarter point and AIB was a little less.... I'll see if I can find the article...
Hopefully the government are reducing their holding some more... getting a nice return on their investment too.
I hate to think what will happen on the day that they post some bad new that was not already known in the market!
If this hits the 60's I think I need to redirect funds here and significantly average down... the irony in the fact that the energy crisis/oil price is one of the main drivers in the share price drops and the fact that this company is trying to sell a long term solution to the problem.... honestly you couldn't script this stuff.
@cooking - Hopefully the glazers are away on holiday!!
With so much pressure being applied to the 6.00 mark you would expect this current ceiling to be breached very soon given the number of tests is experiencing. "Observe1" you might just get the opportunity to sell 50% of your holding very shortly. Be careful what you wish for!
