MNR direktorate and their boss must be seriously annoyed that we have a positive bank balance - so perhaps they will go aften that now ?
How about ordering JF to write off all outstanding debt owed to us as a final instruction to their lap dog ?
Are they replacing JF thereafter with the Shakespeare MP (at an even more eyewatering salary) ?

I think we can conclude that the bonuses regime, which our management were so handsomely benefactors of, was for obeying MNR’s orders in developing the business into the charity which GKP has become.

Agree with that dismal outlook for the Industry OJ - but here we are with shedloads of oil, minimal production costs, debtors + cash in hand worth way more than the current SP, and a management who have proved yet again that they are incapable of adhering to their own timelines or realisisng even a fraction of Shaikan’s rumoured potential - so roll up Big Oil ........ stick in yer best bids (supplemented by the mandatory and suitably adequate brown envelopes to you-know-who of course) and you will be seen to do your duty to YOUR shareholders to secure your company’s survival, profitability and longevity.

Have to bow to the beancounters over this subject - but as a layman I only see a very highly paid management taking a strategic decision to spend a huge wad of our cash to buy up 19M of our own shares, at what turned out to be the wrong price, then sitting on them for months in the hope that the SP would climb above the net price they paid for them - before either deleting them to boost the value of the remaining shares or (if they could pull it off) awarding to themselves for continuing their unbroken record of failing to meet production targets.
Net effect - another eronious decision, and a loss of £45M if deleted now.
At least they bought them within their stated timeframe.
Maybe the money would have been better spent on hiring in some competent oilfield experts to drill a couple of wells and set up process equipment to handle increased production when the POO recovers.
The Major Holders must be tickled pink with this continuing level of performance.

Well I think we could all inform the IMF as to whose pockets any loan will end up in - as for repayment of such loan, well that will come out of our pockets - via one cunning ruse or another.

Sami departed and a new guy with Chinese links implanted (incentivised immediately for just taking on the job - and keeping his mouth firmly shut).
JF departing a fabulous position where he appears to have had carte blanche to assign himself and his mates questionable awards, upwardly mobile salaries and bonuses - for achieving ....... well, NOTHING. This wasn’t done voluntary.
SP being played down, at any cost.
MNR, KRG and ICG must be under pressure to produce a quantum leap in National revenue to dig the country out of the bog their predecessors had corrupted them into, and to defuse the increasing anger of the general population who are living in the dark ages while reading that the monkeys at the top of their tree are world class Billionaires.
Easy way out would be to encourage the likes of GKP, Genel and DNO to be sold off to National Big Oil and kick start the economy u-sving outsider money and expertise.
Just a thought, no hard proof - just a strong vector of events pointing at a probable scenario.

So it appears that something is probably under serious review somewhere.

The Majors aren’t here for the excitement we LTIs have been subjected to over the years, that’s for sure.
A Fair price ? Some of the variables affecting this calculation:
Politics, ICG, MNR, incentives, geology, the real CPR, buyer’s current portfolios and ROI profile, POO sensitivities, export pipeline stability, OPEC, competitor’s counter offers, future pandemics, .... yes, complex and time-consuming.
So it must be worth something substantial to someone - and the Major’s won’t accept silly offers.

Certainly many loose ends and unexplained/irrational events around GKP.
Perhaps JF and Sami could now talk freely to explain what really went on behind the scenes.
It would help redress their years of silence while managing the company on our behalf.

Oh wiseone - I think you should add:
Repaymant (or some other means of recouping) the Longterm debt of some $400M (+ compound interest).
An explanantion of the Sheikh Adi fiasco (did we really pay back $10M to our DEBTOR to drop the development ?) !

On the ball summary there h’70 - but us LTHs have 5 yrs of disappointments and that 100:1 wipeout to catch up on.

If Zahawi gets the TopJob - at least it will confirm who really are pulling the strings behind this charity.

Good link there SS - I think we may yet be plumb in the Middle of a Bid Royale contest between East and West, as I don’t think that even Trump will stand back and watch the S-R block march Westards into Iraq under the pretekst of securing Energy needs without putting up a stanse via his still influential Big Oil.

My only nagging concern is that Genel and DNO seem to be stuck in this spiraling mess also - and their managements contain some real sharp cookies - so I wonder what the common denominator is around here ?

Seems to be very very critical to drive this SP down to the 90p zone.
PSC, future potential production plans, increasing POO, minimalistic cost of production, real content of the mighty Shaikan and the obvious good quality of our infrastructure - are all virtually worthless.
Only worth is what is held in the bank, plus outstanding debts (which the MNR are way too cunning to ever have to pay us).
Something doesn’t gel here.

They are paid up front for the oil sales for export, if I recall correctly.
This money is going somewhere and neither we, nor the general population - see much of it.
Not surprising IOCs won’t touch us with a barge pole.
This is being run as a charity, not a business.

Maybe this type of operation was JF’s business model ?
